Yes, a few times, and liked them a lot. Then again, I do not like being crowded. I really don't like being crowded with a stranger sitting right beside me in a theatre.

Pinga are you returning to work full time? The OT in me would suggest a gradual return to work. 2 days the first week , 3 days the next and then hold steady at 4 days a week and see how you do. Be gentle with yourself, but I do know that your work is very demanding and often has crazy hours.
Hi Tabitha. I am working 1/2 days (afternoons) the first week. 6hrs / day the 2nd week, then fulltime, with the ability to adjust by a phone call to insurance if that feels too quick.
The biggest issue that I see is sitting for extended times due to my hips. They just don't like it.

ps. thanks for your concern and suggestion

The Cineplex closest to us has a VIP theater [}{], but we've never gone. Too rich for our blood. One of my brothers-in-law has gone. When I asked him what he had thought of it, he gave kind of a "Meh." reaction.

@ChemGal , I have a bit of claustrophia (or some phobia related to being hemmed in). I do ok in planes as I have to - it is partially why i taught myself to fall asleep on the tarmac and wake when we are landing.

For tonights show, I actually bought an extra ticket knowing the theatre will be full, so that there is no one sitting beside me (and my friend can have the aisle seat).

So, a few bucks extra for a ticket -- no biggie.

That I can understand then! I'm ok sitting, but hate standing in a crowd and I would pay to have extra space that way. Being short & allergies can make crowds difficult.

Good RTW plan. Might want to try setting a reminder timer on your computer to tell you to get up & walk about a little bit ... can be quite helpful, as one gets immersed in work tasks & forgets about taking breaks. Also - do you have any standing desks? (assuming you are in your workplace & not at home). These can be good for modifying work position - we have a number of them at the hospital - the mobile computer workstations are height adjustable for sitting or standing. I like the variety they provide.

Back to the regular work schedule next week - but I imagine some time on Monday spent catching up with everyone's holiday news. And one of the docs on my team will be coming back - he's been off since mid Nov due to hip replacement surgery - so we're curious to see how he'll do - might need some reminders to slow down a bit, as my team is a mobile one & we walk a lot during a work day. It will good to welcome him back though - he's a stellar human being with an amazing sense of humour & we've missed him.

Yes regular work week for me begins tomorrow as well. My student finished our last work day in Dec. I'm back up for my director for a Board Presentation. ( I quite like this role). He'll do the presentation-and has probably worked on it over the holidays. I gave him so info and photos. I'll answer any questions that come up.

There are few standing desks. I have spoken with our ergo-staff person about them and she advised she has had trouble getting them in. There are more in the US facility. I spend a lot of time in meetings on regular days, and those will only increase in frequency with knowledge transfer (KT).
I have in the past kneeled at my desk and found it a nice break from sitting. I have also stood or walked around as my headpiece for the phone works throughout most of our smaller office building.

How nice that someone is coming back that is a good person, Carolla. I find that those shifts in team dynamics are good. It reminds us of the unique gifts each person brings.

Good plan Pinga. I like the gradual return.

I like the plan as well. A suggestion though, when going in for partial days, try to schedule to go in for afternoons. If you go in the mornings, you will get immersed in your work, or people will keep piling on 'urgent' things that have to be seen to, and you will find yourself staying well into the afternoon. (of course this didn't work well for me because I'm a morning person and have always done my best work in the morning)

God is like that ... on partial recall as mortal we cannot take immortal recall. Einstein said that mortals do not have enough light to see eternal wisdom ... and thus the fractal image ...

Lord Rutherford stated that light appears to come from everywhere all the time and even in the dark ... at the core of the sun ... you can't see for the brightness of the lighter shadow ...

We have to take things as we make them .. and we don't make out in well-planned incidents ... because we really don't wish to know as a biblical statement in dark words ... abstracts?

Does the darkness speak to some people as out of the silence? There are those that don't like it and brutally react to intelligence from a book or boches ...

Yay Pinga. Bring it on!

I went out for pizza and to star wars with my son. It was spontaneous. He popped over after a DOCTORS APPOINTMENT TO REDUCE HIS MEDS. sO OFF WE WENT TO A BREWRY/CANNERY WITH DELICIOUS WOOD FIRED OVENS FOR PIZZA AND THEN UP THE BLOCK FOR A MOVIE. wE CHOOSE 3-d. gOOD SHOW. oops sorry for the caps.

Good for you Pinga! It takes coourage to take that life-changing step - giving notice. Now you will facee the task of helping the company get along without you.

Tabitha - these spontaneous times with our offsspring are the best!

I was proud of myself yesterday. I spent the morning tidying and (beginning) decluttering. Then lunch and a brief rest before persuading Seelerman to come with me to the walking track at the sports complex near here. First time I've been since last spring. I expected to do maybe two rounds. Did three (Seelerman walks faster and does maybe four or more to my three). I sat and waited. Then I did a fourth. Another rest. Seelerman came around and held up a finger indicating he wanted to do another. I jumped up and fell in ten feet or so behind him. Pushing myself, I kept up. On the far turn he noticed me and, he says, slowed somewhat. I was almost panting by then but caught up and finished the round. Five rounds total for me. Wow!

Maybe after getting groceries (usual Tuesday chore) we can do it again. I know that tomorrow will be too busy.
