2023 has been a rough year.
Today was another test of our resilience and family support

A family member was tboned by a pickup truck . She was a passenger and the vehicle was hit on the passenger side

It was a very scary few hours and we will be watching over the next few days. Hopefully all will be well.

Of course, husband still at home healing.

Sister and family dealing with less than ideal situation.

So question for folks.

I'm a leader of a team a simple game . We've been playing for years. Our team has 50 players and I'd say at least 40 have been together for a while.

The game has chat but no direct messaging. Some of our players are people who started when they or their family members were sick. Others when on bedrest in a pregnancy.

We're really laid back.

One of our players has had lung cancer - stage 4. Over the years, he has come and gone a bit.

Back in May he advised he was back in ICU. He sounded defeated. Was tired.

We haven't seen any sign of him since July.

My sense is he has died.
His account will never go away unless I kick him.

How long would you keep the account as a part of the team.

Ask the group. You can do something like use emojis - different heart colours? to vote to make it a bit sijmplier.

Worn out, I feel like I haven't really had a chance to fully be back to my usual since prepping for Halloween. I don't think this COVID shot was worse than others but I probably slept through a time I should have done another preventative dose and woke up with HAE attack.
I sort of feel like I really need a week with nothing going on just to rest up to my usual energy level but need to make do with random days here and there instead of a week.

Until you know for sure. Google the obituaries?
Does it make a difference if there is still an account or not?

Good morning! Protests at award shows, a family going through several crises one after another, trying to determine the well-being of a team member, and all the other things happening around, among and within us, we bring it to the Coffee Cart, for conversation and support over hot beverages. All is ready, come in and join in! All are welcome.

Do powerful protesters have more influence than the lesser portion?

Considering the numbers versus the quality of the power ... should the power (quality) be insecure about their corruption of balance?

This may by chance relate to a quantum train ... some say a Ghost Train ... Dutch?

Good morning and thanks for the coffee @Redbaron

Sitting with my morning coffee is often a time of pondering for me. Today I am thinking about a few different things (the BPoTW I am hosting this weekend, the red sky in the morning, the arrangement of vintage teacups in my china cabinet). Doing a crossword puzzle too.

Hoping things improve soon for you and your loved ones. It often seems like difficult situations just pile up. One friend struggling with such a time said "I guess I'm having a Fortitude test".

I have several deceased friends online. I usually leave them as a memory jogging device.

I can see where a game might be different from a place like this, where we can "archive" the account and put up an "RIP" banner on it along with an In Memoriam thread. Does having an inactive account laying around impact gameplay, for instance? If not, then maybe leave him on the team and post some kind of tribute in the chat? Interesting conundrum, esp. not knowing for sure. Even here, there's been some deaths we didn't know about for certain until well after the fact.

Good morning! Weather continues to be nice here. Alas, I am in the office and it gets dark too early so no walkies. Maybe on the weekend if it is still nice. Getting our ducks in a row for our vacation in January. Cruise and flights are booked. Need to get a hotel for the night before and night after the cruise and then we have all the basics in place. Just need to start looking at shore excursions in various ports.

Max 50 in a team, @mendella. Our rules are if 0 help counts and 0 tournament points in any week will result in removal unless we know of extenuating circumstances. Reason: for team to be successful need active players. Very poor owner rights. Basically can kick or accept.

I think I will go with one year since last record of play. He is/was a much loved old guy. Nice chat. Kind. Will be hard on folks

No room for the wicked as they are drawn up like oil in ... what? ... A lamþ! The Latinos called that þ ... a thorn!

Maybe like a stab in the night ... and some awoke at 4:00 AM to move on ... it was a pain that dark Don!

Where are you going @Mendalla .
Our relatives/friends just left for DR. All inclusive including flights was $695! For a week.
Cruise out of Tampa that goes down to South America (Cartagena) and back, with like four stops in between. I suggested just doing the DR but Mrs. M likes cruising since you get to visit multiple locations. The problem is that we are running out of Caribbean and region ports that we haven't been to before. This cruise has only one repeat on it, but other we looked at would have been at least two repeats. Frankly, the idea of just taking my laptop to a resort and writing up a storm for a week has appeal for me but she still likes a more active vacation.
