I've been reading how many extreme fire zones have now turned to indigenous knowledge for containing out of control forest fires.

I was happy to listen to the chief of West Kelowna FN. He's working with the municipal leaders. A chief from another Kelowna area band was also interviewed. It's good to see more FN leadership being part of the process. I hope they're being heard too

People still don’t realize how quickly fires develop and how they spread. When NS had it’s three big fires in June (?), it turned out that the first was started by a couple of guys setting tires on fire ( that one destroyed some 200 houses. The second one was caused by a boyfriend or husband who was mad at the woman and set a garage on fire….

That's the saddest part. We call these wildfires "natural disasters" but all too often, they turn out to have all-too-human causes, e.g. stuff like what you describe, dropped cigarettes, open fires even though there's a fire ban, and so on. Only the ones triggered by lightning or spontaneous combustion events (or volcanoes, as we saw in Iceland) are natural, IMHO.

Kelowna is sure and example of that right now. Apparently the cold front created winds that made the fire worse. I just saw a fire chief say they're fighting 100 years of fire in one go. That's horrifying. Yesterday it was in West Kelowna. The fire jumped Okanagan Lake now many parts of Kelowna is being evacuated. Our friends in Lake Country, just north of Kelowna airport have been evacuated. It takes upwards to an hour to drive from West Kelowna to the airport. It's closer as the crow flies. Truly terrifying

These fires are terrifying. Good to hear your friends are safe Northwind. Mine got out of Kelowna safely too - a single mum with a ten year old.
It is impossible for me to imagine the logistics of moving the entire population of a city like Yellowknife and ensuring that everyone gets out!

A former WC member, Motherof5(?) is living in Kelowna now. I checked in with her to ask if her home was evacuated. It hasn't yet, just barely to paraphrase her. She's currently on the island so is safe. Her husband is returning home from camp early.

UBC Okanagan has been evacuated. The dealer where we bought our fifth wheel closed this afternoon. I'm not sure if that's because they were evacuated or because they're on alert. They will be close to the evac area at least.

Friends from Yellowknife have left safely. It's neat to see people offering their homes, property and whatever to evacuees. I hope this doesn't become as horrific as fire chief expects.

Had hail here last night. Being from Calgary I am used to big hail and with how loud it was I was very surprised to see how small the hail was. It very much sounded like a window could have smashed at any minute and I convinced Chemguy to just get down to the basement immediately, as hail isn't too odd here but that type of pounding is. I think it must have just come in at a big angle, and when we looked out shortly after it was very much piled up on one side of things.
Chemguy was trying to tell me all was safe once in the basement as there was no weather warning at the time - well I looked later myself, they didn't even give the heads up about the hail until after it ended! So no regrets on my part because they could have just as easily missed giving a tornado warming. Didn't help either that I was in a deep sleep when it hit.

Lots of leaves down from trees, we haven't been able to access damage well because despite the all day rain it's smoky.

Good morning! Thinking of those in Yellowknife and Kelowna, and other affected by fire and smoke; for weather conditions, for those trying to bring the fires under control, for those who are, or will be, evacuated. A lot to deal with.
The Coffee Cart is up and running, inviting you to take a moment or 2 through the day to come in and relax. Allis ready.

There are those that have a determined belief that what goes on out there has nothing to do with their internalised self ... an environmental contained determinant that can't see out there? Thus as in quantum and Newtonian gravity anal ... something must crack!

Excessively determined humans are bummers ... they are incoherent about dark networks, vast know-how they never encountered ... may assist in the differentiation of serif and cherub ... one being a wrap! The other blinded in a ca coon (Ca being and unseen and clear spirit). There is considerable chaos over the understanding of these differentials as divagated in form as duo! Imagine a drifting soul, wandering, lost to them in the edifice suffering through a mountain of BS in legalese ... so the essence departs ... as a great mix-up ... it stirs!

Abstract ochre earth policy is not a fallacy of human activity of industrial oversight ... overlooked? All 've that for avarice ... desire to control something that is dubiously prone to control! Tis a large enigma except for those with overblown sentient of what is their potential! lacks connections --- James Burke!

When in doubt; ask ... it is a contrary urge in mortal souls! They just don't desire to do so ... it is how it goes ... he don ism? Teflon slick ... Don!

Clear for now .. a break to go excavate in the cemetery ... profound activity! Few get the comic terror ... and yet ultimate rest for those said to be unrighteous by the judgemental circle! There an opposing view to the busy and industrious ... receiving the accrued leftover wealth as per certain schemes (metaphor to conspiracy)!

Psyche destroying commentary for those disliking words of the Endore lass ... Endorsing the time is up for sectors!

Like environment this goes round ... global spin factor? There are those than deny and eliminate anything of global concern ... thus sphere of ANis ... Anin! (that latter word designating that believe we should have no conscience about anything/everything in folly full descent?)

Maybe because loss of the subtleties ... unmentionable Pan Tyres ... diphthong, mist, understood ... fuzzy? Inadequate Logi ... passion storms 'r eclectic!

Eternal spread ... random appearing? Manifest ignorance on the entire presentation ... it is all related ... some hated genius we ignore ... and learn little from in distinct confidence ... Dense, or Dans, thick underfoot!

We're a bit smokey here. It looks overcast, but we know it's not clouds. We need rain so badly in BC and NWT right now. On a positive note it seems there has been some progress in the Kelowna fires.

Good morning! Happy Sunday! For those affected by fire and smoke, for those affected by floods and winds, for those who work to contain the fires and clean up storm damage, for those digging in cemeteries, for all the other people and situations that come to mind, we gather in spirit round the Coffee Cart, for conversation and community, and of course, hot beverages. All is set up, come and join in.

The sun is shining brightly with no rain forecast for a few days. Maybe the grass will get dry enough to mow without plugging up the mower.

I have some remainders to intern this aft ... hope the sun remains for a bit ... so I can clear by fuzzy observations regarding the essence thereof!

Left Ova "off topix"? It just isn't right and incomplete chimera El image! These are like ligand bonds ... as stand alone ... items beyond average knowing ... supporting desired naivete in the crowds that leads to eve 've self destruction ... vast folly? Perhaps we should've learned something ... profoun Dais?
