I am often here, curled up in a chair, enjoying the conversation. However, posting much more than an icon or a few words is frustrating and difficult.
I am having a bone marrow scan today in Saint John. It may give some answers as to why slices the effort leads to fatigue.
And remember, you never know when I am here listening. Be careful what you post. Ha ha.

Imagine what friends are out there in the great silence! Such thoughts can mess up some responses and thus irresponsibility in some cults! No conscience ... unconscionable ...

It is said we each have a wee black spot between our ears ... attracting de light ... yet some are blind tous it ... all! May be a literary device ...

Good morning, all! The day begins! Let us salute the rising sun with caffeinated beverages! Coffee is brewed, tea water is a-boiling. Come help yourself.

Good morning. I've had a coffee and am now here with a hot cup of Irish Breakfast tea. I'm feeling a little cranky so will sit over here on the comfy chair by the fire. I won't impose my crankiness on others. I'm ready to talk about fluffy things like puppies and kittens and spring flowers

Oh I know that cranky feeling @Northwind. Have been a bit afflicted with it myself lately. Enjoy your tea & some peace & quiet.

Sunny here today, I so I did my garden walk-about inspection tour. The #@*&%@ evil squirrels have chewed off but not eaten the buds off my beautiful helebore. There was a burst of bad language when I came across that! Grrr. So that's now covered with a mesh trash bin - I'm not sure if it will put out more bloom shoots.

On a happier note, I planted lettuce & greens seeds in one of my deck planter 'greenhouses' this morning - fingers crossed for some early crops. All winter we have been eating 'baby greens' that I have grown in the cool basement under a grow light which has been great. But now the lights have moved upstairs so I can use them for my other seed starts & the basement salad farm harvest will end this week.

Oh no @Carolla . Sorry about those pesky squirrels. We have our fair share of them, and even more so the chipmunks. I am worried for my bulbs, but fingers crossed.

Nice re the salad farm.

@Northwind - sorry re your grumpiness. I get those for sure. It is good when I recognize it, rather than just lashing. I generally say "I am in a mood" and the guys know.

Lots of squirrels and bunnies in my yard these days. No sign of our skunk friend yet but last year they (sexing skunks isn't my thing so I'm trying to be neutral here) showed up later in the spring, IIRC. Have to check the date on the photos I took.

Nice day today but it is supposed to turn cold again.

It took me a minute to get the right context for what sexing meant.

One can tell you haven't been "mother" to many rodent pets. My kids had two mice which were "guaranteed" to me to be same gender. Ha! Baby mice ensued, and I spent a great deal of time over a month or so hanging mice by their tails to examine their little underparts...

And I was successful. We had a cage of boy mice and a cage of girl mice for a couple of years, with the odd escape. Fortunately boys and girls never escaped together...

Nope, had a hamster as a kid and my sister had a few mice when she lived in res which sometimes came to my parents house (where I was living then) and I discovered I was fairly allergies so stayed out of the basement where their area was set up.

Did do sexing of fruit flies for a lab, but I don't actually recall the term being used. I think we just said things like identifying and separating the males and females (so we could keep the females virgins until we were ready to do a specific cross).

Funny how allergies vary. I grew up with cats, always sort of allergic to them. They couldn't sleep in my room, I got hives from even the tiniest scratch, I sneezed. Same with dogs although I still adored them, dogsat, dogwalked, etc.

However, always had my own rodents. Usually gerbils; I liked them. They were active and curious. The odd hamster, but I found them relatively sleepy. (And their cages were always in my room, to no apparent detriment.) My daughter had a guinea pig, which was super sweet. My son had two rats, Mom and daughter, who were the bomb. They used to visit on my desk while Nick cleaned their shelter. They and the cats were sort of intrigued with each other. The cats would go for mice, but rats are quite a bit bigger, and a lot more self-aware.

I have pretty much all the allergies to all the furry animals. I would have to pull out the papers, I should really scan them. There were a few exceptions. I believe goat was one. I suspect if I actually hung around goats it wouldn't be an exception for long.

Good morning, all! As we continue to talk about allergies and sensitivities, basement salad gardens and landscaping squirrels, let us join for a few relaxing moments around the coffee cart, where the coffee is perked and the water for tea is boiling. Enjoy. May all crankiness and sleepiness be smoothed away.

Thanks for the coffee. I have taken a few days off which combined with alberta's lovely good friday and easter monday off, makes for a lovely long vacation

Good morning all, well it’s afternoon now actually

my daffodils I brought inside to force open are lovely and in the garden the buds are now showing yellow. The birds are nesting, the red wing black bird is already creating a fuss. I do love spring
