There were fireworks here last night. We heard them as we got out of the truck when we got home. We thought it was a gunshot at first. We soon realized it was firecrackers.

Halifax never has fireworks for Victoria Day. I don’t miss it. I think Nova Scotians just take the opportunity to go out into nature on Vic Day .

Good morning, all! Now that the fireworks and flashes and booms are done, let us gather in blessed peace around the coffee cart. For pets with rattled nerves, and and other topics, let us ponder and converse. All is ready.

Some remain un bumped and all continuum appears as a straight line ... albeit with imprecise curve in the ire!

"I are" as that internal vertical ... looking all about the ring of vision ... some say the ring is MT ... nothing to it ... but clearly an error according to conscience (often denied by authorities in authoritarian state of psyche) thus that's out! This too may be edited in altered ire ... imagine what's begone enough to be darkly bewitching in domains claimed to be without reason ... just because some folks can't see it! Thus abstraction ... a darker period in psyche ... sometimes labelled the Night of Sol ... Honky Ton Kin ... minor cording? The sade continuum ...

I have actually heard (many years ago so forget the source) that Victoria Day fireworks is largely an Ontario thing, though @Northwind heard them out on Vancouver Island so it is clearly not exclusive to us.

Fireworks were ridiculous here all weekend. Since their retail outlets would be considered "non-essential" they were apparently selling out of trucks in various parts of the city. So much trash left in our parks & on the beaches. Loud fireworks until 1:00AM - really, that's not okay. I know I'm sounding a bit grumpy. Moving on ...

The weather here is a bit nuts. Great week of nice hot sunny days, but no rain materializing despite the radar showing major rainfall approaching! So there's been some watering needed. Then much cooler yesterday, today's forecast high is 31, then diminishing all week to be a high of 13 on Friday! Oh Ontario. I was going to bake some bread & hamburger buns today, but now I think I will wait til later in the week!

The Big Bang goes on as some folks believe Enoch on the head as a good way into IT ... thus we sometimes feel knocked about ... described in some terms as a way of learning something ...

It seems to me there are far more fireworks occasions in this province than in Ontario. We've been surprised by the occasions that apparently warrant them. Halloween (which I've learned is related to Guy Faulks (sp)), New Years, Canada Day.....

I have never seen fireworks for sale in a store or truck here! It's not that easy to find a legal place to set them off. Most of the time it's community groups thankful for that although there are some rogue ones - but they are not all that common.

There was a truck in the parking lot of my grocery store. I also think convenience stores often carry them, but since I never go into a convenience store, I can't currently confirm that.

I don't think convenience stores tend to carry them here. I don't go in often and not since COVID, but sometimes it's necessary to pay for gas, or I want a slurpee (very rare, I think they are too sweet and there are better frozen options) and have also gone in when realizing I was out of non-diet pop at home for doing IVs - I like 7 up or gingerale to help with any lightheadedness or to prevent it altogether.

Fireworks originate from the mother side ... it is noted in the rye truth as in Po Bear! Just upset your woman companion and everything is into ignition ... pyrotechnics?

Solution ... act like your never knew different ... as if from the wrong side of the weavings ... expect loaming up from time to time ... in Celt tradition dreams in the G loaming ... dark blobs?

We normally have pop up stores around here that take temporary short-term leases in empty retail space, plus the back-of-truck outfits. You get them in fall selling Halloween stuff, too. The pandemic has kind of put a crimp in that kind of business, I suspect.

We see that for Halloween and Christmas - storrs not trucks. There's also a toy supplier which opens their warehouse to the public 2x a year. That's happening in June despite Covid unless some new restrictions come it. It went on last summer too, not sure about Christmas.

Yup - most are done 'illegally' here - families, small groups etc. In public parks, school yards, middle of the street, empty parking lots, backyards. Not particularly safe. I think for the huge displays, that a particular license is required to purchase those type of fireworks & site safety inspections occur.

We hear them here too at the Eid celebrations to end Ramadan.

A few years back, my son & gf were in Paris on Bastille Day - went to see the fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower - that NOW was certainly memorable.

One year we were in Harper's Ferry, historic area of the US - on July 4 and really enjoyed the huge fireworks event.

What's the most memorable fireworks display you've seen?
