The thickness is good for those who are undergoing radiation, Crazyheart.
Not sure if you got burns or not last time.

I also switched to all cotton everything. Between that and the glaxal I only got a small patch of skin that was damaged near the end. (when you have a fat roll, and are getting pelvic radiation , the skin fold is particularly susceptible.)

That is an itchy problem crazy. Sorry to hear about it because I know itching is problematic. I see you have some suggestions of creams that may help. I found relief with aloe vera gel straight out of the leaf when I had a bad rash. You can also buy pure aloe vera gel at the drugstore. Use it like Australian sunscreen and slather it on, often. I find it cooling too which was a plus for me.

First treatment today. 14 to go. I will fill you in tomorrow. I am tired

shaky and itchy. However treatment went well.
Hopefully the itchiness is just localized and isn't too bad. I find few understand how miserable being itchy can be vs. something more expected like pain. If you're lucky a good night sleep will deal with the majority of the tiredness.

I’m glad the treatment went well. Sorry about the itchiness! Is Glaxal base helping at all?

My mom found out, through proper testing, that she has an allergy, not to scent, or to parabens, or to propylene glycol - which is common in cosmetics and shampoos and lotions, but to something that has a 15 letter long name that begins with “m”. A fairly rare allergy, I think...but it’s in nearly every cosmetic, personal care product, laundry detergent. Even hypo-allergenic unscented stuff. In fact, it’s apparently not even required to be listed in some places...depending, I think, on where the product is from. Not sure if that’s US, or Canada - but a lot of common products contain it, but it isn’t listed. So, she had to research which products don’t have it. She can use Burt’s Bees, Body Shop...and some all natural products made with olive oil, etc. (i’ve been telling her about Castile soap) ....but not the Cerave or Aveeno products that she had, which were supposed to help, before she found out what her specific allergy was.

Though, your itchiness is not the same. Is it sort of a neuropathic/ nerve itch that you feel inside out? I hope you get relief, and a good sleep!

Herez hoping you get also a nifty superpower
Like being able to have a restful sleep in any situation
Or being able to teleport anywhere on Earth
Or being able to change your hair colour at a glance
Or ability to make the perfect choccy chip cookie, the mere tongue taste of which relieves stress
Or the innate ability to walk on any roof in any weather
Or having built in a/c in hot conditions and built in warmth in Canadian Winterspringfall

13 to go. more fatigued than I remember from last time but treatment went good.

they had to stop it and start over because they hadn't positioned me right in the

coccoon. but even with that my appointment was at 2 and I was out by 3.

The anti-depressant the doctor put me on for anxiety is giving me more problems than

nausea and the itch is not going away. maybe a little better. the clinic is fragrant free so

I can't use Glaxal Base before treatment because of heavy medicinal smell. I do feel better after

todays treatment. Thank you all.

Sending you wishes for healing and strength, Crazyheart.

Try cetaphil or cerave, maybe. They are about the same (both are a little pricey but I found Cetaphil at Winners/Marshalls a couple of times, for half the price). They have no smell at all. They are hypoallergenic (my mom's allergy is rare - they usually help).

image.jpg I was just thinking that glycerine might help (ask your doc maybe but it's odourless and I haven't heard anything bad about it). It's vegetable based liquid gel/oil, pretty cheap (maybe under $5?), and available at most pharmacies near the first aid stuff. I found it to be a really good moisturizer. A little goes a long way. I keep forgetting about it. They usually have store brand but it generally comes in a bottle something like this.

I'm surprised you can smell the Glaxal. I imagine your sense of smell is heightened right now. I'd rather be in pain than itch. It is not fun and I have empathy for you.

Be careful of products with lanolin or mineral oil in them. Those are highly irritating and cause itchiness. We know you don't need more itchy! I'm not able to use Cetaphil. I can't remember what was in it that my skin didn't like. I'm thinking lanolin.

I'm sending warm hugs and a prayer that this treatment does what it is supposed to do. May your healing be smooth.
