If any f you can help me with this problem, I would appreciate it. For months my skin has been itchy.

The doctor ha said it is dry skin. But it gets so itch, and if I scratch, of course it gets more itchy.

I have used Rx creams, special stuff for the scalp. other creams, soda in bath. no soap or

bubble bath or oil. antihistamines(over counter) If I scratch it causes welts, scratch marks,

and pimply rash. It isn't all over all the time but different places some of the time. Radiation starts 12 days.

I want is cleared up. Could it be nerves. Nothing new in diet or soap. The family say you are not happy.

No, damn it, I'm itchy.

hmm, so when you say Rx creams, are you referring to Glaxal? it was my goto. Glaxal Base
Are there particular areas that are itchy - or more importantly, never itchy?
Did you change your laundry soap by chance?

Sounds like eczema to me. Or hives. Both can have a nervous component.

That sort of thing is the perpetual plague of my life. Keep your nails trimmed right to the quick so that when you scratch (which you will do in your sleep even if you can resist while awake) you will not break the skin. There are three different kinds of OTC non-drowsy antihistamines, so you may wish to try another variety to see if it helps. Epsom salts in a not-too-hot bath can ease the itch; just make sure you slather on a simple cream afterwards.

Is this over the counter or do you need a prescription. Glaxal Base
It's over the counter, the jar can be quite large too. Many compounded topical medications are mixed with it.

I like to use an oil, followed by a something else (glaxal base is a good option) when my skin is really dry.

For itching, I have found hydroxyzine to be the best antihistamine. It's prescription only.

My last dermatologist recommended Cerave cream. Also OTC.

Maybe someone should send you some "special" salve, lol...

On the shelf, not over the counter.
Recommended by my oncology-radiologist to defray burns from radiation.
slather it on.

I find Glaxal base is a bit thick. You really have to rub it in to get it to absorb, but it works ok. It has a hospital antisceptic/ synthetic smell (like prescription creams have because it’s the same base). But maybe aversion to that smell is just a thing with me. It’s cheaper than Cerave or Cetaphil and does the job.

Another good and cheap one, if you're not morally against shopping at Walmart (which I am, but someone bought this for me). Balea rich skin cream. It's another neutral one in a big tub so that you can slather it on. Nice thing about this one (and the Cerave, which it completely resembles) is that it has no scent at all.
