Yes, but that’s for patients/ visitors. I am wondering when/ if staff had to wear masks. I mean, any staff that would refuse to wear masks when its mandatary would not survive the probation period.

Pretty well every staff member I've interacted with in almost a year has been wearing masks. It would be mandatory now because it's mandatory to wear a mask indoors in BC.

I hear you....but take comfort..... youve raised a very independent daughter.
There are occasions when I wonder about my wisdom in encouraging my kids to try different things, to trust their own judgements and stand on their own feet! All four are confident and have no difficulty with politely telling their parents to back off! No. One of them does that very rudely!!

Going off topic now, but I think most parents want that in terms of what they teach but don't want the response.
My sister after having first baby was having a rough time, called my mom up to complain while all emotional, my Mom called me late that night to let me know, so I went to see her the next day and my mom was preparing to make the trip up to stay for a few days. When I showed up my sister then had the opposite reaction, a bit of panic of my mom coming and saying how she didn't want her to come, she was just going to be criticized, etc.
My sister left for an appointment, I called my mom up and clearly laid out all the information I was warned by my mom about npt doing - don't comment on her weight or what she's choosing to eat, don't comment on the baby having a diaper rash because his diaper isn't changed immediately, don't comment on how she's feeding the baby, etc etc.
My mom was rather taken aback, she will often warn us about how to not criticize each other but she's the one who is the worst for it and while we may stand up for ourselves I don't think either of us has either told her anything like that regarding the other. It did seem to make her being there go smoother though.

Different aspect but still, fits in with moms (and parents) being more likely to make meddling type of comments that other people wouldn't make.

Are those hypothetical or real cases? I can’t imagine real ones, because someone who doesn’t wear a mask as staff in a hospital would not be staying there long. Or are masks not mandatory in hospitals where you live? We have been wearing surgical masks at work for a long time now ( I am guessing its a year now). When the second wave started and we had a local hot spot, we were also wearing visors, despite not even having active cases in the hospital.
For the second one- so far, vaccinations are not mandatory. So, theoretically, someone could work at a vaccination clinic and not being vaccinated. However, considering that that person could be infected without symptoms, I think that he/ she should have regular tests done.
Germany has started to offer every person two free covid quick tests per week. Schools are doing tests twice a week, which resulted in the discovery that the highest incidence of covid cases was in 6-9 year olds who didn’t have any symptoms.
In my mother’s nursing home, they are testing every employee at least twice a week. So, while one can’t force people to be vaccinated, testing can be a mandatory requirement for the job.
There has been an increase at the three schools in my neighbourhood of asymptomatic children bringing home the virus

Alberta will be doing AZ vaccines in pharmacies when we get more. The pharmacy I switched to imis getting that one so need to go somewhere else for mine.

My siblings in Berlin are getting their AZ vaccinations these days. Berlin has gone into a hard lockdown over the holidays. Now saying the 30-39 year olds are the biggest group. My sister was communicating with a Physio who wanted to buy her clinic, but heard that he and his family just came down with Covid. Hopefully he will recover quickly and she can work out her deal.

Was the Pfizer by choice, or chance?

I'm thinking I don't want to get the AZ vaccine. There's too much blood clotting, or not clotting, sort of problems in my immediate family.

So I got Mr Paradox booked at a city based clinic when the eligibility was extended to anyone over age 60. This is Toronto, by the way.

Already had him booked for a later appointment at a hospital clinic where he was elgible due to risk factors.

Tried to cancel the hospital appointment but the registration site does NOT indicate how to do a cancellation. I am not joking

Parents/grandparents have all had 1 dose. Chemguy's dad has not as far as I know, he got a cortisone shot and didn't book a vaccine even though we encouraged him to just book it for when later.

Interesting. our plane landed in Manaus and forefingers had to have the yellow fever card in their passport. Inspected and stamped

that is the Amazon access point but had thought it was all Brazil. I had to get half a dozen shots, and carry proof. About five years ago

Wonder if @GiancarloZ knows? He is from Brazil.

It depends - we have seen different requirements regarding yellow fever in Brazil, both for domestic and international travel. There were bad years when everyone coming from and going to Manaus, even internally, should get the vaccine, and the whole country was under the requirement by some international organisms. Nowadays, I think the requirement is just within the State of Amazonas (of which Manaus is the capital ad largest city).
