WILDFIRE UPDATE #3‍ ‍(August 8 10:30 am)

Wildfire evacuation accommodations
To everyone up and down this valley who has been ordered to leave home, we are deeply concerned for the fear, uncertainty, and disruption you are living through. Naramata Centre is offering temporary indoor accommodations and campsites to individuals and families whose primary residence is under an official evacuation order, wherever in the region you are coming from.

Sorry, wow, Jayne, I'd no idea

Good morning! We gather this Sunday morning, to chat and support, to connect and communicate, around the Coffee Cart. We also will drink coffee and tea. We will think of those at Naramata Centre who have had to evacuate, because of fire, and discuss what is in our minds and hearts.
The Wonderbaker has been busy, making the cinnamon buns that are so loved. we do appreciate the efforts of the Wonderbaker.
Well, the tea water is boiling and the coffee is freshbrewed, and the cinnamon buns are warm from the oven. All is ready, everybody is welcome. Come in and join the chat!

Will someone lodge and form a command post? Stumpage ... when time runs short!

Mores to look into ...

A command post? Hmmmmm... not a bad idea...

Good morning! How is everyone? Hope you had a good weekend. It's time to rise and shine. The Room is open, the Coffee Cart is ready to host our gathering. Let us converse, support, and connect in spirit, as we join in the tea and coffee, and enjoy the baked goodies of the Wonderbaker. This mornin, the Wonderbaker has provided a variety of cookies, including (but not limited to) oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. The tea water is boiling, coffee is freshbrewed, cookies are warm and ready to eat. All is ready and all are welcome! Come in and join in!

Some of the best "cookies" my mom used to make were Haystacks. No actual cooking required.

The ultimate cookie, imho, is the White Chocolate Chunk with Dried Cranberries. Whicdracs we used to call em

Back from a huge holiday at an airbnb in Calabogie with my kids and their kids. We met up with so many relatives and even toured their grandma’s house now owned by someone else. How nice that she opened her home to my husband’s very large family. So many memories.

Is ultimate a subjective thing that collapses in the objective vision ... that is from out of your domain?

Many proud powers will not go there and thus the lower people die off in escape ... it is how to go that causes Karen's fright ... like a motorcycle going over a berm or collapse of a wooden horse ... a dead ringer for some modern myths ...

I'm currently in the negotiating phase of selling my parents' home. I'm hoping we come to an agreement. They wrote a letter and seem nice. We're still far apart on price, though.

Likewise here but it is our home and time is rushing by ... contrary to some sensitivities in the family! There are those that believe that some mortals are immanently lengthy ...

I picked my blueberry stash for the winter on Sunday, 3.75 a pound and I paid $58.20- you do the math..
Worked yesterday and today to get them in the freezer. I would suggest some fresh blueberry corn muffin for breakfast tomorrow.
Went to pickle ball today, with over 27 degree outside, the air condition in the gym was nice. Tomorrow is my son’s 31 st birthday….and my father’s 108 th ( he only made it to 78 though).

I am pleased to read the care that naramata centre has given to those being evacuated
Me too Jayne. Naramata is directly across the lake from Summerland - must be awful to watch the rapid devastation of that fire.
And if anyone feels so inclined, online donation can be made to Naramata Centre through Canada Helps to support their Wildfire Evacuees Hospitality effort.

chansen - did you go on that roadtrip to the Maritimes? I may have missed that news bulletin!
We decided Zach wasn't up to the drive. We took a week and hit Montreal and Ottawa. Finished at my wife's family's cottage in Muskoka.

It was still fun. Zach got on a jet boat on the river. Ate well, stayed well. Montreal hotel had a robot that I thought offered treats. I thought that because while I was in the lobby getting a coffee, it came through carrying trays of mini croissants. Random kids surrounded it and raided the tray inside. I texted for my kids to come get a croissant. They were too late.

Later, I learned the robot doesn't distribute free treats. It takes food from the kitchen to the executive lounge. Those kids had mugged a robot. I was a witness to a robbery.

Good morning, all! Thanks to Mrs. Anteater for the fresh blueberries, and the Wonderbaker liked the idea of blueberry corn muffins. Thereare also simply blueberry muffins available for those who are not partial to corn bread. Those will go nicely with the and coffee, as we gather round the Coffee Cart. Here we chat, support, and connect with one another.

The tea water is boiling, and the coffee is freshbrewed. Both kinds of muffins are warm from the oven. All is ready, come and get it!!

If robots just steal things from learned behaviour ... can you imagine what the next generation form as set of leaders with great will may be subjected too ... not understanding the objective?
I see things differently and thus have been identified years ago as not belonging to a society thus laid out ... too much of an alien thought?

Nah, this wasn't walking. It was a rolling dumbwaiter with a pixelated face on the screen. The trays were behind plexiglass doors in its body. I should have known it wasn't handing out treats because it never really stopped. It kept trying to go around the kids, but they surrounded it. It was a professional robbery.
