Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

I made a pineapple upside cake precisely once in my life. Our neighbourhood friends and my sister and I had made a club. I think we were about 11 years old. We gave each other challenges as an initiation. Mine was to make a pineapple upside down cake!

I don't think I have ever had pineapple upside down cake. Mom used to make an upside down cake with peaches but I don't recall her ever making one with pineapple. Sounds good on paper, though.

Kinda grey and grim looking here. I was thinking about cutting the grass this weekend but so far, not great for outdoor stuff. Forecast for tomorrow looks more promising.

Peaches are the next thing for inflation as they cut 1/2 million trees ... maybe for the sake of stabilizing high rates? Expansionism is the target for blowing it ...

Good morning! Happy holiday Monday. Sunny here this morning, after a clouded-over, rainy weekend. It was fun reading about experiences of baking as a club initiation. Hope the result was edible!
We gather round the Coffee Cart again to discuss our events and thoughts, nd to drink coffee and tea, and indulge in the Wonderbaker's efforts. This morning WB has created a peach cobbler for us to enjoy. The cobbler is warm from the oven, tea water is boiling, and coffee is freshly brewed. All is ready, everyone welcome. Come n and join in!

Good morning! For those of you who had a holiday yesterday, hope it was good for you. We gather around the Coffee Cart again, for tea and coffee, as well as the conversations, support, and community building. Our Wonderbaker has been busy, finishing up the goodies. We forgot to do Christmas in July, so the WB is doing it today; just finishing the icing decoration on gingerbread persons. They do look good, and the kitchen smells like Christmas, sort of. Anyway, the tea water is boiling, the coffee is freshbrewed, and the first batch of ginger people is ready. Everybody is welcome, come in and join in the chat!

All cleared for a golf exercise ... expect vanities ...

Gingerbread sounds good. Hmmm. Bite the head or the legs off first? Execution or slow torture? :sneaky: :ROFLMAO:

I am wondering: is the wonderbaker unionized? He seems to be working seven days a week!

Good Wednesday morning! That time of year has come when the mornings bring hints of the autumn to come. The afternoon will be warmer here, and the sun is shining nicely all day. We gather round the Coffee Cart again for our conversations, our mutual moral support, and our camaraderie. awe join in coffee and tea, and enjoy the works of our Wonderbaker. Today we have assorted muffins and spreads/ toppings to enjoy, thanks to their talents. The coffee is freshbrewed, tea water is boiling, and muffins are warm from the oven. All is ready, everyone is welcome. Come join the fun!

My late wife would advise legs first. That way it can't run away....

Is that a heavy handed way to stop wandering searches for empire though Shakespeare and other alternatives? They say "aye" that's a good way to gain control of one of the rising powers as the alternate goes down in varied virtues ...

This was not AI generated to begin with but along the way in life many corruptions are potential in a domain devoted to empire-ism ... even if self-terminating. This is non-critical or unimportant if you didn't know! Then if you do not read script in dept ... well you just miss something and it is lost in the inkiness! It could also explain projecting thoughts into the unknown that fuse as projected unknowns! Abstractions ...

I am not a pious individual because fixation never worked for me. I gathered with some church members for social reason (sinful socializing) some years ago with the secondary reason of learning what dah eck was going on there. After approximately 30 years of listening to "you don't need to know that" I discovered the Y's and wherefores are elsewhere ... as the alternative to high feeling sunk in. Few will agree with the lessor opinions as the appear to incarnate with the higher-up on blueberry hill as consequence of accelerated digestion of that fruit produced ... although some say it doesn't make sense. Has anyone encountered any hedonistic activity that was alternately minded? I suspect it was all one-way and how delight of Christ went elsewhere and thus all the lost soul gathered beyond where we are at just now ... wondering about massive stirs in the undercurrent of the gingerly brains ... light or Levitin ... said to relate to the eastern Mediterranean that countered Romantic urges to screw the nomadic folk ... part of the empire became very gritty and dray as haggis or NFLD hard bread ...

In short anything above the horizon is questionable as it indicates how the thing warps ... often in all directions depending on the density of the air asn it hums eigh ... Ah! Then the A Hai ... as rackets erupt ...

Further concerns and perturbations? Can such things be stilled perfectly? Thus doubters evolved ... fringe effects of alternative movements? Houlihan personified in spirit ... proper incarnation of that which was nothing but a minor thought from below ...

Absolute believers deny such aberrations and yet are susceptible to terror of things that they swear that you cannot believe ... because of incarnate virtue ... it just isn't ...

Thus these things are sanctioned and set up for further occurrences that those remaining in the present cannot see coming as bad things are denied ... and then you get them as they creep up monstrously! I was once told by 2 retired MS Code Developers that such devices were potential monsters ... and yet this was denied by the head people ... and here we are with the autonomous running things like they should do it gingerly ... but of course they don't for reason that forms ignorance ... an alternative wisdom?

Did you see stupid develop over yonder? Yah I know other folk overlooked it also ... they believed what at first seemed hedonistic ... pleasant and then it collapsed as if minor folly and we will be set back thousands of what ever you label it even in time ... producing quiet Millenia ... to those on the left let us get on with the subduction ... as it appears to remain for us ... as core difficulty! Others say heat develops there because of compaction and dec rush ...

Thus particles spin off into the great unknown as proto nache ... Nash? That'd be dark too ... gamma duplex as twinned shadows of what you thought formed in you head when it was out there mind-you ... mi-Deux? Medusa ... a sound formed by the mouth of a monster I was resting with ... scratch that! There's probably something even more complex that st-upi-ditty ... for there's no end to it as manifestations occur ... that's the word as breeding ... someone believed it a breath of virtue when it was a hail in the dark ... stranger things? Yup ... they go on and on as governors, CEO's and other irregulars looking for shelter from extenuating conditions discovered when looking into creative determinants ... like a kettle of reptilian thought!

Remember it is early in ongoing time ... of genes, viruses and Prion formation of bad protos ... that shouldn't have been proposed but we despised intelligence, thought and all that followed ...

The escape ... do not re think it ... mystical drift occurs ... usually around 4 in the morning when you believed you were alone and then that sensation of strangeness ... creepers? Is it a bugger or a bug-ee ... bud in development as Bud A? There are eastern alphabets that accommodate stranger forms ... alien lettermen?

If you take a meal with some of them you can breathe fire ... resembles Szechwan ... says what? Ginger can do that ...

A long way around a cookie? Just to ease the waiting for something that just will not depart as time goes on ...

Last year, our youngest granddaughter chose not to return to camp after day 1. She didn't have a good experience. She stayed with Grandma and Grandpa while her older sister went to camp

This year, she tried again and LOVED it . So thankful.

Today, they are rafting down the grand with the camp. When we pick them up, we will go to the pool there, swim and have a picnic supper

So we got back from our driving vacation a couple days ago. It ended up quite truncated. We made it as far as Montreal, where we spent three nights. We wandered Old Montreal, went on a jet boat, climbed Mount Royal, took in some local attractions and ate well. Zach loved the jet boat, which was good, because we were stuck on it for half an hour. Our daughter loved the Oasis Immersion exhibit. Our hotel had ducks.

On the way there we stopped in Kingston at Fort Henry where we watched theatre kids get into being soldiers on parade.

We spent two nights in Ottawa near the Byward market. The full day was largely spent at museums. My wife and daughter walked across to the Museum of History while Zach and I took in the War Museum. Zach was in awe. He got to the hall of tanks and equipment and just gasped. I tried to focus him on the stories behind the conflicts our country has fought in. He was all about the statistics of the guns and weaponry. Autism is fun.

From there we went to the family cottage for a couple of days. Zach had almost all his cousins at his disposal.

We realized Zach wasn't up to driving to Nova Scotia. I probably wasn't up to driving Zach to Nova Scotia. Some other time.

Zach and I took in the War Museum. Zach was in awe.
The first time we were in Ottawa with Little M, long before he went to university there, it was over Canada Day and the museums were free so we hit as many as we could. That was one I had to do since I had never seen the current building (forget when it moved). I think I was as in awe as Little M was. As a kid, Mom and Dad drove us over to Ottawa from the cottage one summer (it's about 3 hours closer than going from Kitchener or London). The war and aviation museums were my favorites. Of course, now Little M lives there so could go anytime he likes, really. Will be a good city to raise kids if he and his wife ever get there. Lots of educational opportunities.

Didn't make it to the aviation this time. I wanted to, but we ended up walking to Kiweki Point the day we left, which was kinda cool.

From there we went back to the locks on the canal. We watched them open and close to raise some boats, then we crossed at a lock.

As we were walking up the steps to Wellington, near the Parliament Buildings, a guided group of grandmas was walking their ebikes down the steep steps, trying to get to the path behind parliament and the library, near the river's edge. Ebikes are heavy. One woman was particularly struggling to keep hold of her bike on the steps. I asked if I could help. She hesitated and I assured her that I was also a cyclist and would not drop her bike. She allowed me to help and we got her to the bottom with her and the bike in one piece each. The group of women waiting at the bottom were very appreciative and I noted that I was now, perhaps, not the worst person in Ottawa. I had forgotten about Poilievre. And the US ambassador. They tried to assure me I was never the worst person in Ottawa, to which I suggested they talk to my wife or daughter.
