Think that Bewitched was actually a bit consciousness raising for women of our generation?

Samantha knew her own mind at least and wasn't afraid to go against her husband's wishes. I don't recall any negative consequences for her.

Lucy (I Love Lucy) got her own way through manipulation at times. There's a pretty good argument that her relationship with Ricky was actually abusive. She called him Sir non-ironically too.

Then there was June Cleaver doing her housework wearing her pearls.
When I used to remind my son about cleaning up after himself, he'd say jokingly, "Who do you think you are? June Cleaver?"

Came across these homophones today and thought of our friend Crazyheart who loved such things:

Naught; nought; knot; not

Yes, naught and nought are slightly different.

bizarre experience today
took me off guard

decided to dine today

noice sunny day

Good morning! Family dinners, fresh doughnuts, issues of domestic violence and lack of counselling resources, role models for wives on 60's TV programs, family health issues, and odd conversations, along with other things that arise. We gather round the Coffee Cart, to find supportive community and conversations, from serious stuff to chit chat. All are welcome, come in and enjoy.

Imagine the chaos caused by homophobes when not a sole knows the primal origin! Thus word is prone to causing chaos and irrationality that pops up in love of the disorganized state! Noughty???? Nothing TU eid ...

Thus more reordering to give the impression that someone is in control when it is quantum state ... mia culpa kicks in ... even Trump says he is not responsible for laws he disagrees with ... then there have been examples of darkish personalities all through history that shaded their followers ... it is almost diabolical or even random! Then there is the problem of RAM and no processing ... displaced collectives? They couldn't gather a clue!

Good morning. We were going to go up island to help friends move their fifth wheel into their site. Their site isn't available until Saturday so we're going up then.

Today will be a knitting day

Not loving the change of weather here, but it's still been a really nice Oct. Been enjoying all of the Halloween stuff - I was outside a fair bit for the last bit of warm-weather. Luckily, the Halloween Village got to experience that - the event was really great! Awesome to see - they tried it last year, but with it being the weekday on the 31ist it didn't have the same traction, plus it wasn't advertised as well. Great to see the event really expand! Hopefully next year more cities will jump on board - Alberta had 3 locations.

Another event with the snow - the last time I did it there was snow too. This year it was definitely nicer as I remember the wind the last time made it unpleasant. This time, throw on jacket and glovers and I was comfortable but my nephews were less convinced so after the event we drove instead of walking to check out decorations.

Good morning! Happy Friday! Knitting and Halloween events, with upcoming Christmas craft sales and other holiday events, and all the other things that are happening around and in us, we bring it to the Coffee Cart, where conversation, support, and hot beverages await. Feel free to drop in and have a mug or cup, and join in the chatting. All is ready.

I'm getting through business and personal paperwork. Way behind.
I get into it for a bit but just feel other places I should be. Hoping another week will have me close to caught up.

We stopped shelling out years ago and our street has been fairly quiet since my son's generation has grown up and moved away. We are starting to get some young families again, though. The new owner across the street has a toddler and there's a woman with two kids that I speak to sometimes when she's walking them to the school bus at the same time I am leaving for work.

Oh, and in Ape news, I got my hernia fixed yesterday. All seems to have gone well. Sore but managing so far.

While I was waiting in the day surgery unit, we ran into the kid from up the street who taught our son piano for a couple years. He's doing his residency in anesthesia and his sister is doing hers in internal medicine. Their mother was apparently a pediatrician back in China but never got licensed here. Forget the father's profession but I now he was working for NRC at the time we first met them.

Glad to hear your surgery went well, take it easy.

There's a Community Prayer Service being planned tonight because of the horrible murder/suicide that happened Monday night. I am still deciding if I will go or not. If it were a genuine prayer service...no problem. If it is a bunch of politicians saying words on and on....I don't think I could stomach that. It was initiated by a politician.

It's hard to know what to expect from a Community Prayer Service.
As Nancy kind of suggests, it depend on who is initiating. The one here in London for the Muslim family that was murdered was very much the initiative of the mosque, even if people like the mayor and Trudeau then showed up. So whatever statements the politicians made tended to be in the demonstration of solidarity rather than the service itself, which was led by the Imam.

Some time ago I saw a specialist in the big city hospital. Turned out that she used to babysit my kids!

LOL. I was actually thinking I might meet the wife of one of my team, who works in day surgery at that hospital. I have not seen her since our last company event before the pandemic. Guess she was too busy to pop by.

@Mendalla It's kind of cool to have friends or teachers of our kids become part of our lives in different ways. My son's safety boat on his pumpkin run was owned and operated by a school chum; another of his friends owns a business which snow ploughs our driveway; my other son's friend is our pharmacist; and there are probably more if I did some serious thinking.
