My grandmother did not have a cookie jar per se, but often baked some awesome cookies when we visited. Mom was a baker, too, so picked up a few of the recipes.

I have what I call a 'dome'. I picked it up at an antique store, and it is a covered glass dish that, when turned upside down, becomes a punch bowl. Right now there are raspberry/blueberry muffins in it. When I know I'm having company (like kids and grandkids) there are usually homemade cookies in it. The benefit is that it is see-through, so tempts anyone who looks at it. My sisters often check out the dome when they come a-calling too.

My old guys' mother had a couple of cute cookie jars. However, there were never any cookies in them, except maybe at Christmas, so they were empty temptation.

We had a lovely sail back to the island today. We're happily settled in our winter park for two nights. I'm glad we could come here on our return to the island. It's home. We move to another park closer to Victoria on Tuesday. We had a nice visit and meal with friends tonight. Tomorrow I have bloodwork and then Tuesday I have a doctor's appointment. Thursday is CT scan. Tis the season.

We had front row seats so got a seal's eye view of the docking process.

Good morning! Ferry rides, wondering how we'd like to be remembered, other thoughts and topics that fill our minds and conversations. Quite an interesting mx. The coffee cart is ready, come join the kaffeeklatasch and share in the conversation.

Imagine the power of forgetting and denial ... thus the autonomy and darker corners ... four points?
  1. Freedom of speech
  2. Freedom of press
  3. Freedom of belief
  4. Freedom of movement
Then there's the 5th and all is lost as according to St Jude ... so intelligent goes somewhere ... concept ungripped ... the essence of opportunity lost in preserving something sane! Its out of here ... went in a blip ... a bright flash! Feint ember ...

Complicated process fire carriers ... and water carriers too ... something to draw upon ... self contained?

many years ago my sister made me a ceramic cookie jar that looked like an owl. Shortly after the Christmas cookies were gone, and it stood empty for a while, it became a container for dog biscuits! (something that we had to warn visiting children about).
The dog is long gone, and after another period of emptiness, it took on its present role of holding tea bags.
Multi use!

When one begins to be cognizant of how little we know about eternal things ... is it humbling to previous pride of believing we knew it all?

There the come-down or as the Romans said ... collapse or fallacy in the sight of being enlightened about some small thing! Tis a story that can be enlarged upon as birds that cruise in the dark ... assuming the icon of owlet! Perhaps owl in in laughter ... that's the night howl a mystery demanding to be looked into ... thus mores to observed as it is said there's no end to it ...

Alas some people are limited because of denial, etc. This power drives politicians, etc. and there it lies ... piously seized ... the implications as further process are immense ... I could express more but I have been restrained by those telling me I'm stupid for looking further ... they deny such intelligence ... a rare field of Process Engineering where relations are modulated! It is difficult to keep up with ... due to avowed naivete ... like effete there is a sense of slowing process when you are aware of innate critical factors ... like exploding populace! Nebulous construct to those believing in unlimited economical opportunities in a world of limited resources? One must dip periodically into the abstract whether appreciating loss of the absolute or not --- St Jude!

Did i tell you about my great granddaughter? Last winter my goal was to see my great granddaughter. Sure enough, GG was born on March 8th, Granddaughter of Seelergirl, Daughter of Granddaughter. Although she lives in a city over 100 kms away, I was able to see her several times before my household was down with COVID. Once we recovered, we saw her a couple of times while wearing masks and across the patio. Then when we were planning a visit to her, granddaughter, the baby and the baby's father all came down with the COVID "plague". Were hoping to visit in another week or so, meanwhile, we see her through the magic of computers.
She is amazing! Very much like her mother who was very much like Seelerboy.
By 6 weeks she was stretching her legs to try and stand in an upright position while being held by the hands. She was alert in the jolly jumper she actually seemed to be dancing to music! She has always been alert, laughing and aware of her surroundings. An absolute delight to know, and oh yes, just chattering away in baby talk in 2 languages (French and English)
Therefore, it was difficult to see her listless, and cranky from fever. One night she seemed so sick, that my granddaughter (a recently graduated nurse) contacted ER at the local hospital.
We have been assured however, that that scary time has passed and she is on the road to recovery. I can breathe again! and my new goal, is to have another few weeks in which to visit her.

Seeler really happy to hear you get to visit with your great granddaughter. Enjoy your visits!

I love the way that technology can join us together. It allowed me to have a "holiday meal" with son and daughter on Christmas Day (actually, I think we did it Boxing Day). Seeler so happy that it lets you visit with your great grand (and isn't it wonderful that you can see traits from other family members in her?). So look forward to hearing about next live visit!

Wondering what I can added to some frozen blended fruit.

Having smoothies and snacking on frozen fruit has turned into smoothie bowls. I decided to do up a bunch at ones and freeze - it cuts down on some effort plus I can make them when I have bananas at the right level of ripeness.

Microwaved a bit from the freezer it was good, but was definitely better straight from the blender. I don't want to add the typical homemade icecream additive - besides maybe some yogurt. I wonder if hydrated chia seeds would do it. Anyone ever froze those before in a dish?
