Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

Seeler is sitting in a quiet corner of the room, scanning through the wonder Café and trying to catch up with everybody's virtual lives. She wishes that she had the time and energy to respond to her virtual friends, some of whom she has known longer than those in real life. Is it hard to summon the energy. The least little thing seems to tire her. She was out for a while today; a blood test at the hospital. These are becoming very routine.

Phone rings! It's the doctor's office. Can she be a available for a blood transfusion tomorrow morning?

Of course – at a 7:45. She will be there for the cross matching and the transfusion – the fourth in so many weeks.

I don't know what they're looking for but I hope that soon they will have a diagnosis and perhaps a treatment.

In the meantime, don't expect too many posts from me. But I'm still here and following along.
Good to hear from you Seeler! Sorry things aren't going so well. I'm surprised to hear this will be your 4th with no explanation as why you're needing them, I hope they can figure that out quickly.

Going back to the address issue - I wish all addresses would use postal codes a bit more. Might not fix an issue with say 10th street and 10th A street, but it would help.
Calgary has an issue with having a number of streets with the same name of a different type. eg. Wonder Street, Wonder Blvd, Wonder Bay, Wonder Cres, Wonder Trail, etc. I lived on a Close. I was taught Cl was the correct abbreviation, but it turns out Canada post has no accepted abbreviation for Close. It wasn't unusual for our mail to get to a house a few blocks over, and vice versa. They were a match if you switched something like Close and Crescent, but the last number of the postal code was different.

Hey friends, good to "see" you after some time!
I will try to read all the news in the next few days.
As for me, my wife and I will be moving to Ottawa on the 30th or 31st of March, as I have accepted a great job offer there.
We gonna be closer to family and many friends, but at the same time leaving many other friends in Winnipeg. A bittersweet moment.
And as of mid-April, I will have completed half of my MTS program at Wycliffe College, U of T - which feels completely crazy!
It seems I arrived in Canada yesterday, yet I have accomplished so much in 2 years and a half. And I really appreciate having your support and ears during the difficult beginning.

Hugs and thoughts going to Seeler, hope that whatever is going on can be discerned and dealt with sooner, rather than later.
A wave to GiancarloZ, congrats on what you've done so far, best wishes for the rest of it to go well. Moving is bittersweet, and mostly a big PITA, but it can facilitate better things.

Oh Seeler, I am sorry to read this one. I am not surprised that you continue to read along, but am thankful for you sharing that information. Hello to eeler Man, as well.
I do hope that your team determines what is occurring, and helps to resolve. Scary to be compromised health in these times.
Your wisdom and the common sense threads that you have shared are so important to me.

Sorry to hear that, @Seeler
My prayers to you as you go through such a difficult moment!

Gentle hugs to Seeler as the medics try to help her feel better. I'm sure everybody has missed her special presence as much as I have.

Oh, nice to hear from you, @GiancarloZ , I missed you here. I hope your family and friends in Brasil are safe ( it was Brazil, you came from, wasn’t it?). It must be so worrisome watching the news.

From memory, Seeler may have Crohn's disease underlying her Parkinson's. Probably the underlying reason for transfusions. Hugs, dear @Seeler, we all think often and fondly of you and Seelerman.

Nice to hear from you as well @Mrs.Anteater !
Yes, my family is well in Brazil - at this point, my parents and most relatives had Covid and thankfully recovered without damages. But the general situation of the country is horrible, indeed. The clown they elected for President is destroying the country,

Good morning! It's Friday. Giving thanks for those who have checked in after being away for awhile, prayers for successful procedures, and prospects of the future, gathering around the coffee cart, where all hot beverages are available. Help yourself.

Good morning all. A lovely crisp sunny day here

i hope the blood transfusion gives you some energy Seeler and the sun brights your heart

I agree, Bette the red. It does seem more like a complication of Crohn's rather than Parkinson's.

I must try to remember to discuss this with my doctors during my next visit. It is discouraging

Good morning! The coffee cart is up and running, providing for your hot beverage needs. We can tell stories about the WC2 app. We can continue ant of the conversation ongoing from yesterday. Or we can ponder and comment on the thought, 'What the world needs right now more than anything is....' Enjoy.
