Hi folks, I cannot think of the word that i am looking for, and i wonder if the "room for all" can get it.

I will use a scenario which is not close to what i am trying to describe, but, has the same impact.

I want to go to a bar to see a friend, and party. I don't have a car.
I suggest to another friend that I'd like to go out with them, and end up convincing them to go to the bar.​

When I get to the bar, lo & behold, my other friend is there, and I hang out with them.

or

I don't like a coworker.
I give them crappy work and dont' support them. They look bad.​

An opportunity comes up for outsourcing, and I suggest that a role that could be outsourced​

Lo & behold the coworker is released (the one that i don't like, that i suggested for outsourcing and that i suggested could be outsourced)​

That reminds me of something I heard on the radio- what do you call those clumps of snow/ ice that built up behind your wheels in winter?
