I have had a busy day today, but got to spend some time outside, so that was nice. Dog and I went for a nice leisurely walk in the mid-afternoon sun. It was my daughter's birthday last week, and we'd finally found a common day off and I took her to a locally owned cafe (family friend types; they used to feed and keep an eye on my Mom) for a nice little brunch. Then I tackled a job that's been haunting me for a couple of days but my cat is tired of eating in the dark. Back hall landing has an overhead light. Keep long life bulbs in there. Don't know how it got changed last time or time before, but there must have been a tall kid/boarder in the house. And one of them could do it with a three-step step stool. So it's clear that if I'm going to do this solo, I'm going to need the aluminum ladder from outside. And it's a little too high for the ceiling when it's folded and there's no room to extend it out properly. So I have to sort of wedge it kitty corner against the wall, creep around to the second step, trying not to impale myself on the door knob, with my impromptu tool bag around my neck. Anyway, I got it all done, very carefully (washed and debugged the glass shade), but talk about McGyvering...And I didn't knock down a single piece of art (there's two large canvases and a set of three glass-fronted prints back there).
