I was blessed to do a job this afternoon. To "run the slides" (sync the Powerpoint slides with the service; sometimes a bit difficult with the new Livestreaming, but we did well, according to our Tech Team Leader). My Rev's Mom was 103 years old when she died a month or so ago, and so today, we livestreamed a memorial service for her, with just the closest family in live attendance, and speaking/performing, and the rest of the service pre-recorded video and audio clips including 3 sets of slide shows with music. It went REALLY well and it was SUCH a pleasure to do a final service for a woman, who I had only known for a decade, who had such a profound influence on so many people in her life, via her person; her engaged, loving, laughing inclusive personality; her influence as a mother, a grandmother, a minister's spouse, a drama teacher; her roles in the United Church as supporter, worker and personality. What an amazing role model of the old adage, "people will forget what you've said or done, but they won't forget how you made them feel". Apparently, Joy, Grandma Joy, Momma, Mom, Mrs. E., The Big Easy, was pretty memorable.
