Ouch - hoping Mrs. M is doing okay .sounds like a tough injury .. are you a good caregiver @Mendalla ? Were you also biking with her?
Have a great time with your grandie @Pinga!
I've spent a sweaty few mornings at the school garden this week. Since the kids WILL be coming back, and outdoor ed spaces are treasured - I decided to get busy & spent a few days weeding the veggie patches. The custodian kindly put out the water barrels for me yesterday. Today my mate came with me to haul bags of manure & help to dig them in. The beds are SO dry - it was water, mix, water, mix, water, mix ... so many times to get the soil to finally accept the water. Then we added 5 bags of manure strategically. Then I planted some seeds I had researched for fast growth to maturity, cold hardiness, insect & disease resistance. So ... all done ... now we wait ... and probably water daily! Carrots, kale, lettuce, zucchini, bush beans. They all should mature in the 40-45 day range. So fingers crossed!! Radishes will go in a week or two - they only take 3-4 weeks to harvest time. I also will move some raspberries that are spreading into the perennial bed - but that can wait a bit. So it's good to back doing that. While I was working today I was visited by a little 3 1/2 year old and his Dad - I invited them into the garden & we had lots of good conversation about "dirt" - he likes dirt! And food ... so fun.
