Northwind, I used to compare my daughter's journey to being on a roller coaster with its ups and downs. Getting pneumonia is a downer, but it sounds like you are already starting the climb up. And as Luce NDS ((ends) said, 'stay calm, be cool'.

Ahhhh ... good wrap last night with the Raptors winning their 3rd game! And then a good sleep. And this morning beautiful sunshine for our annual street sale. Lots of stuff went to new homes which is good, and very little will go to recycling or landfill - at least at this moment in time. Looking forward to a quietish evening - a bit of getting ready to do as we are going away for a couple of days, which I am looking forward to. And for supper tonight - some beautiful pickerel fillets (or walleye if you prefer that name) caught by my mate on his recent fishing trip to northern Ontario :-)
 
Good morning! Coffee cart is available. In recognition of Pentecost Sunday, I brought out the good cups. (One could call them red china, if one wanted to.)

The good cups! wow! I feel like I am company. Please, I am part of the family.
But it's nice to treat ourselves to the best once in a while.

I tried to send this pic to @BetteTheRed , but it didn’t copy it into messages. This is the supposed catnip I was so worried about cat overdosing. She completely ignored it. Is this even catnip? It has nettle like leaves. It smells a bit weird. If there are any cats in the room, serve yourselves!

It sure looks like catnip to me, but Bette should confirm. My experience is that some cats like dried catnip better...Or sometimes it takes time for them to "discover" it. Try bruising a leaf.

Love the red china today. Very lovely and classy. The coffee tastes especially nice in them. I've brought some scones and jam from the local farmers market.

I'm on the mend for sure. Leas coughing, more breathing. hopefully more energy will follow.
 
Had a weird health issue last night. Fever (100.2F), fatigue, and pain in most of the joints where I have arthritis and some where I don't (or at least where it hasn't been diagnosed yet). Research suggests a low-grade fever in connection with inflammation isn't unknown but it also seems to be more of a thing with rheumatoid than osteo and I'm the latter per numerous tests and examinations. Given that it's second weird, transient fever I have had recently, off to my doc this week. I have to do my 3 month A1C tomorrow anyhow so I'll do that first, then we can review those results on the same visit. Based on glucometer readings since my last one, though, I imagine I'll be in the controlled range again so may not have much to discuss.

Thinking of you, @Mendalla, and hoping you'll get this resolved. Has Mrs. M. ever suggested a DCM to you? I find mine good when it comes to more holistic/auto-immune stuff.

Yes, Mrs. A., that certainly looks like a catnip plant to me. (You're right that leaves are similar to nettle, but clearly, the stem is absent those lovely nasty little spines spilling formic acid into one's skin.) Different cats get different levels of excited about it, fresh or dried. Some only like the flowers, sort of like little cannabis addicts, lol. For tea for humans, I harvest it when it's in full flower and use leaf and flower. For cat presents, I use mainly dried flower. It's best outside, likes poor soil, doesn't need full sun. Spreads a bit (it is a member of the mint family), but not invasive.

She's actually a bit of a skeptic. Her brother is a doctor trained Western-style (not practicing, he actually ended up in forensic medicine) and I think that's a bit of a factor.
 
oh grrrr .... staying an airbnb .... can't get the TV to work. Hate it when the SMART TV is apparently smarter than we are .... not used to a WIFI connection etc. etc. Forecast is for rain all day tomorrow - good day to stay in ... would be nice to have TV working! And the RAPTORS are playing tomorrow night ... hoping we don't have to end up squeezing in to a bar to watch!!

Are the hosts nearby (and is it not way too late) to ask?

You could call an electronics store in the morning, maybe.
