Eek! I just saw a spider crawl under the base of the deck that had a body bigger than a quarter - maybe a loonie - with leg span was at about 2 1/2 inches around, and black. I was going to get a picture but it saw me look at it!!!!...and then it ran away.

:eek:aargh! I have mosquito bites, spider bites, and I hope that's all. Mosquitos attacked me outside last night. But I am terrified of that critter if it comes in and bites! If I woke up with that on me I think I'd die.

:)

No dangerous spiders matching that description live out there AFAIK. Sounds similar to, but smaller than, a dock spider however those only live near fresh water. Perhaps a large wolf spider, which are quite harmless unless you're a bug.

I think it might be a pregnant wolf spider, which still doesn't make me feel better. They can and do bite if they are in your bed and get disturbed (they bite in self defence if they get scared by movement) - they can leave quite an itchy welt but that's about it. I would die of horror if I saw that thing on me...but I wouldn't literally die unless I had a massive heart attack.

:)

I bought a catnip plant at the local Kikuma grannies yard sale. Still have it sitting outside- wondering if cat could eat an overdose if I take it in and leave her with it alone?

How big of a catnip plant? A small one, a cat that's fond of it will eat down to the roots in no time. A large established one, not so much.

Cats cannot and do not "OD" on a catnip plant. They may behave somewhat foolishly, sleep a bit more, etc., but they won't be harmed. They will, however, kill a young plant.

Thanks Bette. It is less than a foot high and has five branches. Should I keep it on a pot on the patio and bring it in temporarily for enjoyment? Should I plant it in the yard?( then other peoples cats might get at it. ). What, if it flowers? Will it be still good?

Is there anything wrong with drinking Sunday Tea (black tea blend with French vanilla) on Thursday?

Thank you Redbaron for the croissants - a little nod to the French re D-Day & Juno Beach perhaps? I've been watching the broadcast from Juno Beach this morning - a very moving tribute.

I had to make my own tea this morning since I couldn't access the cart. Now that I'm back, I think I'll have a cup of an herbal tea. This ginger tea will do the trick.

I'm feeling better today and feel like I'm healing. My temp is back in the normal range. My taste buds are closer to normal too, so food is more appetizing. There's hope.

Ginger is really good for the body, so drink away! I have been chewing on ginger occasionally as it is held to be restorative to lungs and digestion. Maybe, maybe not true - but I love the taste.

Ah I have some delicious candied ginger here. It didn't occur to me to have some over the last few days. It might have tasted terrible to me anyway.

I did enjoy a tulsi ginger tea last night. Tulsi is an herb that is supposed to help with relaxation. It is tasty whether it does anything or not.

Today is looking better so far. I'm less congested and my bronchi feel less irritated. Here's hoping I'm on the mend with this crud.

well today started with a jolt. I went to enter garge to get to freezer when a black critter streaked by. I suspect a rat.
We had back garage door open a fair bit yesterday when man was here turning on and programming my lawn sprinklers.
I hate rats.
Nw I have big door to garage open and car parked in front so it can run out. Unlikely but I am hopeful.

I probably need a rat trap or 2. Sigh.

When we were growing up, my mother's favourite treat wss dark chocolate covered gingers. She liked that we thought they were horrible so we got them for ourselves. Now my sister and I love them. They are a nice way to remember her.
