I really am worn out today from shopping. I need to treat tonight, so I'm hoping that will stop any attacks from happening after this. I'm feeling a little annoyed with Chemguy, for some reason the stereotype of the woman doing most of the prep for Christmas has stuck in our relationship. He often claims that if I didn't get around to doing it early he would take over - this year would have been his perfect chance! He won't go out to any of the typical Christmas shopping stores on weekends and really hasn't helped much at all.

He was supposed to take off work tomorrow partially for a bank appointment but to also shop. He forgot all about it. He said he will still help out, and jokingly said he will be ALL the helps despite working. I turned around to make some tea (trying to get warm) and he noticed the gift cards on the counter. His response, "Don't forget to get a card ready for the garbage man tomorrow". :cautious: Not even a full minute later!

I also found out about a potluck at his work a few days ago. He asked what to bring - I'm always the one to do the plans. I figured there would always be fruit and veggie trays and made a few suggestions of things he could make. Turns out that's not the case, so he'll do veggies & maybe fruit - bought predone, along with some guacamole I'll have to make *sigh*.

He's very lucky he had dinner ready for me when I got home today!

I think it was Fort Edmonton Park we saw.
I just didn't notice a change of decade with every turn. I haven't been all that much though, just once in the last few years and more times when I was fairly young. The one I saw in Ottawa (or maybe we had crossed the border to Quebec, can't recall for sure) had a very obvious difference when you moved, it seemed to fit that description. It's very different than Fort Edmonton Park, all indoors.

ETA - I think it was the Canadian Museum of Civilization. I was confused when trying to search, it has a new name now and I was there more recently than Fort Ed!

Jae - I've had the real ones periodically over the last 40 years. The prep and the technique have improved greatly. You are right - at one time they did want you semi-conscious. I well remember a nurse holding me in position and holding my hand as I squeezed hers and the doctor talking (dictating) what he found. It was more than unpleasant.
But in recent years it is not nearly as bad. Prep is the worst part - but much easier than before; and you are put under for the procedure. Wheeled in to the room, a needle - and you wake up and are offered orange juice and a muffin. A bite later the doctor comes in and talks to you. When you feel able you get dressed and wheeled out. Years ago you had to wait a few hours; the last few times I've had the procedure (usually every second year) I've been able to go home (or out for breakfast) immediately. You have to be accompanied by an adult who can stay with you the next 24 hours.
Nothing really to worry about.
Prep, procedure, go home.

**** good morning folks***
I've already had my first meeting of the day. It started at 7am! I'm thinking that I should have asked my team if they were nighthawks or morning folks!
So, now that I have 10min until my next one, I'm finishing my coffee and saying a howdy to you all
********************
Here's some breakfast muffins for you, and some fresh piping coffee.
I see that Seeler has already lit the fire. (You can always count on her, can't you.)

Seeler, why don't you put your weery feet up a bit and let us spoil you for a while.
Enjoy the fire, someone else can clean up he dishes, and putter with lunch today.

P3 - great to see you!

Oh pinga - I find those early meetings brutal - I'm so NOT a morning person!! It's very infrequent I have to go to one that early, and I'm grateful for that small blessing :-)

One of my suppliers sent a tray of cookies for our office, so here's some virtual cookies for the room.

* waves at Carolla *

Good to see you, too!

No more of those meetings for me - - I have retired from my career in OT.

Helo everyone, I don't have time to post a long message but I wanted to comment on the lack of food options seeler mentioned at the historical village, I would assume that it is to help cut down on unwanted pests in what is essentially a museum. Artifacts and bugs and rodents do not go well at all and keeping food to one location helps keep them to a minimum. I can only image how difficult it would be to keep on top of pest management in a facility like that knowing how difficult it is in a single building.

Well - my mom said that last time she had one done her doctor showed her the whole... er... video.
My friend's husband watches his but mine was like the others said - go in, take a pill, wake up 30 minutes later, have some juice, get told results and go home and well....fart. :)

The preparation is the worse - there are two kinds of prep. I tried the more difficult one (Not realizing this) and it was terrible - I could not keep it down and you had to drink a lot of it. So they switched me to the easier prep and it was a piece of cake and no cramping or anything. I really couldn't believe how easy the whole thing was (inconvenient, but really not difficult and I worry about everything).

Arrrgh. The Canadian Museum of Civilization (which was called the Museum of Man when I was a kid) is now called the Canadian Museum of History - it seems the Harper government needs to rename everything in this area. Two major roads were renamed this year and the museum - it's really getting out of hand oh, and a building after Jim Flaherty. They also changed the museum - they took away much of the Aboriginal components - I haven't been to see the changes. It's just so sad. And the Museum of Science and Technology is literally falling down (it's closed right now) and there's no real money to fix it (i.e., build an actual building) because we waste it on this type of nonsense (I'm a little bitter)

It's been a tough day. Started to do things, but an attack cut that short quickly. I'm sitting here now, making sure I'm better before going to sleep, snacking on cheese and a small glass of wine. Technically I should be closer to the ER right now, but I think my throat will be ok, it's just going down a bit slowly. I find the wine helps much more than sitting in a Timmies would :)

Today I'm making my mincemeat tarts. I'll set some out near the microwave. W like them better slightly warmed.
