It's 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and I just finished writing my sermon for Sunday. I'm trying to figure that out. Something's just not right.

Nothings right ... and nothing is beyond those believing in only physical somethings ... physic logically firm? This logos is out ... as a god word ... ineffable in a world where the authorities would rather common folk to be stunned ...

Stunning appears to work ...

Beautiful day here today - sunny, breezy, not too hot. I did a bit more gardening & some errands, and soon will hit the shower to start getting ready for my retirement dinner with my core team. And then tomorrow is my last day of work! Seems a bit surreal, but I'm content that I've made a good decision & all will unfold as it should.

Congratulations Carolla. May your retirement bring all good things.

Carolla, thinking of you as you approach you retirement day. I know that you will have planned well, and that you have packed up, but, there are so many leavings...the leavings of your work and your friends, and your future plans for your work that were still "to be done".

I know that this will switch, and you are a smart woman, may you live into retirement as you have lived within your current job and life.

peace to you.

Thanks all. Went out to dinner last evening with my team & it was lovely. Had an open coffee hour this morning at work & so many staff stopped by to wish me well - I so appreciated them taking the time for that in the midst of the extreme busyness that has become the norm at the hospital. So many treasured colleagues - some I have known for decades, some new to me, but all treasured. So now I'm sitting on my porch swing, cuppa tea at my side, the sun has come out after a cloudy humid day and there is a hint of a breeze ... my family is making a delicious feast this evening ... and new adventures lay ahead after a time of being intentionally unstructured for the summer. In mid June my OT colleagues are hosting a garden party for me - so that will be a lot of fun, and nice to see everyone after a few weeks away. I do feel blessed to have had such a wonderful career.

I noticed that by going to Germany every year from Victoria Day on, I have been missing out on the best time in my garden. Now this year, I am leaving a bit later, but I almost don’t want to leave, everything is in bloom!
I think I will visit next year inSeptember or October. I don’t want to miss my garden again.

Mrs.Anteater - that was one of the reasons we gave up on our vegetable garden. I had looked after one since we moved here, physcal work when I didn'have a rototiller. But I was younger and enjoyed both the outside work and the good tasting fresh vegetables. But we were growing older - rather than expnding each year, it began contracting. Then about ten years ago we decided on a summer long trip to the west coast 0 six weeks away. I triedd to pursuade a neighbour to plan it and keep it as hi sown but he already had a beg garden. So I covered it with black garden wrap and left it for the summer. That was the beginning of the end. Our garden has shrunk to a few tomato plants in pots, our rhubarb bed, and a few perinial beds going wild. Seelergirl is starting out with a small vegetable garden this year. She wants her son to know the thrill of pulling a carrot out of the soil, wiping it on his jeans and eating it on the spot..
I'm looking forward to your summer greens. I'll keep them thinned so that rather than getting overgrown and going to seed, they will regenerate new baby leaves for you.

I'm back home. Came back with my sister yesterday rather than flying. I'm worn out. It was nice seeing everyone but travel, a funeral and being around my nephews so much is pretty exhausting.

Thursday and Friday temps here were up to 30 c - that's hot. Too hot! Yesterday down in the low teens, overcast and with a wind. Cold. Today we are looking at sunny sky and a high of 15 c - that's good. A nice spring day - no boots or heavy jacket bbut not sweating either.

We're off to church this morning and to my cousin's for her birthday this afternoon. She is exactly six months older than me and we grew up knowing each other - not particularly close as young people but enjoying getting together now and then now that we live in the same city (most of our adult lives we lived in separate provinces). A good day to relax before the busyness of getting ready to travel and then off to Nova Scotia to meet with Mrs.Anteater before she leaves on her trip.

Exciting, Seeler. Enjoy. And Chemgal...I admire your honesty about your nephews! I generally find travel exhausting, and, for some reason, I get a little anxious being away from home. I imagine that will get worse as I age.
