With driving back I expected this weekend to be a recovery one. Today I have a few things to go - send off medication logs, do a bit of work that got sent my way, hopefully some time in the garden and a bit of laundry get done too. Tomorrow I hope to be feeling mostly normal, I'm babysitting for a few hours.
I do love spending time with my nephews, but yes, they exhaust me too!

Just found out that the son of some friends of Mrs. M (who we haven't seen since they left London) passed away a couple days ago. He was only my age. And, from the obits we are seeing, it's not just a blow to the family. He was apparently a major figure in cardiovascular research and that community is mourning the loss of a valuable talent.

@Mendalla - seems like a fair bit of sad news has been around your family for a while now. Hopefully everyone else can maintain their current level of health for a while!

I am amused
. We are flying to ON for my nieces wedding. My mom suggested my son use her areoplan points. She e-mailed me her #.
I called aeroplan. You need to enter your aeroplan # and pin to get through(full story for 2 hours you could not book due to technical difficulties). Anyhow I reset mom's pin- based on house # and numbers in postal code(not very secure questions). Long story short they would not allow me to access mom's account. They wanted her to call them. Not sure if mom could mange entering number and pin aas she is in her eighties. Her computer-well actually the town's internet was down-and her account was blocked as the password had been entered wrong too many times. So I hung up.

5 minutes later I called back and said I was "w" -my mom. All booked with no issues. Compliments on knowing my grandson's cell #. Didn't twig when I put it on my "daughter's" credit card.

Moral of the story-sometimes it is easier to deceive.....

What grows any faster in power than deceit ... being that virtue is not well accepted in the protocol of having control !

Verges on avarice ... to the very edge of that cutting ... separate 've power ... thus gospel truth is really beyond us as yet!

I know Pinga which is why I tried to do it honestly the first time. The telephone security was to press the street address number and then the numbers only in postal code. If someone has your address they have both those pieces of info.

an address and phone number would at least be 2 different pieces of info. and to their credit they could only email the ticket to the e-mail on file. So in our case Mom forwarded it the next day.

Yeah, seeler and seelerman are here to house sit and watch anteater cat. Wish they would have better weather, we are going to have frost again tonight. It already killed two tomatoe plants and my potatoe plant looks iffy.
Germany will have 28 degrees and unfortunately thunderstorms- I hope I get there before or after.

My dream has become my nightmare. We are hosting a used book sale at the local mall, a fundraiser for our local church camp. I've been storing the books in our basement and garage. It has become quite unruly. Today I have a team coming to help transport everything to the mall, a schedule for manning the table over the next two days. Worried...What if no one comes to buy books???? What if I have to bring them all back home??? (My husband is looking forward to getting his garage back, so he would not be pleased!) Many of the books we have been given are wonderful; some are garbage. Interestingly enough, one box I just went through had some silky feminine garment that I didn't recognize.

After a book sale, we always call the local used book store and ask the owner to take whatever he thinks he can sell. Then the rest go to the thrift store. Whatever they can't/won't use gets recycled. But, I guess, that's when we have the luxury of hosting it in our church hall...
Will you try a "fill a bag for a toonie" sale near the end of your allotted time?

I hope your place in the mall isn't outside a book store.

My rule is that once I have offered books for sale, I refuse to pack them away for "resale, some day". So my plan is always at the end of a sale to take straight to a thrift shop.

Good strategy: books - $1 each or 2/$1. Makes sure you get rid of a few extra books. Then at the end, bag/$1 or "by donation".

Yes...we will let people fill bags for a loonie near the end. We are selling books for 25 cents each or 5 for $1.00. As for the saying 'no' part....well, this whole thing was my idea. I have got to stop having ideas.
