Inside... outside... that's what we need to meet and discuss. Probably some more outside than we expected due to last night's windstorm.
I saw some shingles and lots of branches everywhere when I was out for my walk today.

Struggling a bit today. Went and checked out some plants yesterday. I know that going into greenhouses is bad for me, and I really limit my time. Mostly just an allergy thing. Most of one was spent outside between a row of herbs, so less of an issue. Went into an indoor one for a very short period of time. Took extra allergy meds to deal with it.
Middle of the night though - my breathing was horrible. Couldn't inhale fully. Asthma meds weren't making much of a difference as it wasn't really an asthma attack. Ended up getting Chemguy to knock on my back for a while, that did the trick enough to clear out what I needed to inhale properly again.

Today still feeling short of breath, feels more like asthma, not the wheezing/attack type of issue though. We are going to go to a further out greenhouse (or at least that was the plan, we'll see was supposed to go earlier). I'll be staying out of the greenhouse area, just sticking to the seed area today :(
I'm hoping that a few days of inhalers use gets me back to normal.

That sucks @ChemGal I hope you are breathing better soon.
Last year my breathing just seems to be an issue very quickly, not sure why. Long term asthma is good, years ago what I experience now was typical most of the time. It just seems like the triggers get bad much faster than they used to and once cleared up I got back to normal for long periods.

My trees and bushes have come through both the ice storm and the wind storm fairly well so not much more cleanup on my property than usual. A house down the street had roof damage from yesterday's wind, though.

I have been concerned about BlackBelt1961. Haven't seen him around. sent him a

pm but he hasn't responded I know they are looking after his mother-in-law who

is ill, I believe.

Damn those seasonal allergies eh ChemGal. Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly. I wonder if it would help at all the wear a mask when you go to such pollen laden places? Looks a bit weird I know ... but I do see more people wearing them in public places, mostly people from the Orient.

Lots of storm clean up going on here in my area - many big old trees have come down in part or in full. Many evergreens completely uprooted and toppled. I feel so sad to see the big trees go. Some people still without power. Lawn furniture was flying off condo balconies in Toronto - such a lot of dangerous debris around. Even our very heavy swivel chairs on our covered front porch blew over at one point. Friend's big gas BBQ got picked up & blown off her deck. Several people reportedly died as a result of storm related issues. Tragic. That was quite something yesterday afternoon. Came quickly, settled quickly after a couple of furious hours. Mother Nature sure was pissed off. I wonder if we will be experiencing more of these extreme weather events ... probably.

Thinking about Seeler with the record flooding in her area ... hoping you & yours are safe dear Seeler.

Lots of wind today. We went for a drive in the countryside, came across a big spruce tree blown down across the road. We got around it by driving on the opposite shoulder. But at least no rain - and none predicted for the next few days. Flooding is starting to go down a little in Fredericton, but still rising down river and in Saint John. I live well up on a hill - the hydro-electric dam up-river would have to burst before I'd worry about my house. For me this flood is an inconvenience; a square dance festival scheduled for this weekend was cancelled. But oh, the people and animals on the flood plain. So sad. And expensive. And our province already the poorest (or near) in the country.
Luce NDS also lives in Fredericton; I think he is above the high-water line.

I had that happen once in a wind storm many years ago. Problem was the tank was either not on or low (forget which) so there wasn't much weight and the wheels were near the edge of the deck and acted as a fulcrum, allowing the wind to flip it over and off the deck. I am more careful with how I place my current BBQ and keep the tank on it even in offseason to provide weight.

Sorry to hear about your breathing difficulties ChemGal. My sister is experiencing something similar at the moment, and I've made her promise to go to Emerg if it doesn't get better soon. It takes a lot to slow her down, so this seems serious to me. Yes..and to all in areas where clean-up is necessary, wishing you energy and help. Our snow has melted, and we actually have a beautiful day here. My husband and I did more box slinging as we picked up books at a church garage sale...getting ready for a big book sale next month for our local church camp. Our basement and our garage are full of books. (I'm thinking heaven must look a lot like that....an endless number of books to read!)

We have decided to plant a pear tree in memory of my deceased friend in my sons garden. I was checking out information about growing pears ( I myself don’t care much for pears, but junior loves them), any suggestion which kind is a good eating kind? They would not be doing any kind of canning...

Apparently Comice are the considered the 'best eating pear'. I like Bosc's myself, but they tend to be "drippy"...

And yeah, it's spring allergy season. I take a daily non-drowsy anti-histamine this time of year, or I itch incessantly. Also, the black flies have started out in the country, but don't think they're biting yet.
