Hilary - You must be feeling relieved to be back home again - tough week of losses of so many sorts. I think your moustache in your photo protects your identity perfectly! If I recognized you when I saw you on a streetcorner I'd give you a hug! Take care friend.

It's a great relief to be back home but we'll be back up to Edmonton on Thursday for the funeral. So we still have a fair bit of stress to handle before we're out of the woods.

Thanks to all of you for the kind words and virtual hugs.

So my little nephew decided to be a bit of trouble. A week late, lots of scheduled and bumped inductions. I was the backup plan for childcare and I knew yesterday that it would be needed if induction stayed on schedule. I was prepared to be in the same town as her for late afternoon/evening, but my sister was bumped so figured there was no need to be so close.
Got a frantic call in the evening - to be there ASAP. He decided that a week was long enough and he was coming right then. My sister got an acquaintance until I could be there, then my shift was over once the main person was free for the night.
My sister barely made it to the hospital, I'm sure she could have delivered on route had she tried to.

Boy :) Big guy too! I don't really know the lbs/oz sizes for babies well. He was over 8 lbs 10 oz though, forget the exact number. In pictures he just looks big! Haven't met him yet, my brother in law only has this week off and they want to settle in a bit before visitors.

Yup - that sounds like a good size fella!! Hope your sister will recover well, and all will settle into their new routines with ease.

Congrats on your second auntie-hood, chemgal! Very nice sized baby. I'm sure you're looking forward to meeting him!

Congrats on being an auntie Chemgal! I hope that you will be able to continue to experience the many joys and worries of being involved in the loves of these little ones. I believe that it's usually to everyone's advantage to raise children in an extended family situation.

Seelergirl was over today and posted a picture of the 'puzzle from hell' on my facebook page. She had groceries in the car - icecream - so she couldn't take time to figure out how to transfer it to WonderCafe. So could somebody whose skills are better than mine give it a try.

Sure, have her mail me the device the picture was taken on and any passcodes needed to unlock it.

Also a bank card with pin number in case I need to run for snacks while transferring the file. If sending the card with pin is inconvenient just write out the card number on the front, plus the 3 digit security code on the back next to the signature, be sure to include card holder's name, date of birth and mother's maiden name. And a twenty dollar bill. Snacks aren't cheap here. Shipping and all.

Facebook is easy to copy from - just one trick, need to click on the picture first so that it's the full view. From there, right click on it, copy image. Come here, right click and paste.

Thanks! Now people can see what was driving me up the wall.
Any suggestions as to what I should do with it?
It can't stay on my coffee table indefinitely.

And now I have nothing to do.

WOWZER Seeler!! Congratulations for such persistence!!

Good work ChemGal - and apparently without the snacks revjohn thought might be necessary

It was a peak wall ...

Images are worth a 1000 words ... thus god expands ... underlying in the word as the children ... didn't wish to know ... from there it was subtle ... some vales and braes included ...

Some good news, the blood banks will stop giving supplies. So I will be put in contact with a rep from Berinert to get supplies and have them shipped. If it's anything like the firazyr program is should be much easier and smoother than what I have been dealing with!

When I was a child I lived in the same house that I do today. Back then, across the street lived a couple, with two little girls. The elder and I became best friends. Yesterday, her Mom, now 84, died, apparently quite unexpectedly (heart, stroke, or similar). Not only was she neighbour, and friend's Mom, but I had, years later, worked with her at the College as fellow support staff. Wonderful woman, great life, just sad for her family, and that another little piece of my history has slipped away.

Sorry to hear of your loss Bette. You put it well - "another little piece of my history has slipped away". Hugs to you this evening.
