She's been pretty busy with business travel I think - but she still often reads along here I think.

I too have been missing Pinga's posts. I do see her on Facebook, often with beautiful pictures of her garden.
She may be taking the summer off, but I hope she comes back in the fall. I miss her wisdom and understanding.

Good morning, all! I've also missed Pinga, hoping she will find her way back soon. Maybe the alluring aroma of coffee would help?

Pinga does enjoy an excellent cup of coffee!!

I've been having quite a nice visit in BC with my Dad (coffee is okay here too :-) Heading home tomorrow. Weather has been simply wonderful to top it all off! Home to humid Ontario tomorrow .... I hope the thunderstorms in the forecast will be done by the time my plane lands!

Good morning! Here is the coffee cart, stocked with warm beverages and some pastries. Also have supplied some lime wedges, for whatever purpose.

It might be funny if it wasn't so real – Seelergirl's Pete nailed himself to the wall of the shed he is building for his lawn tractor. Instead of an old-fashioned hammer, he was using a power hammer to drive nails through the siding. A moment's inattention and he drove a nail through one of his fingers. (He is an experienced worker and can fix anything). Usually he is the very careful and precise.
He was able to reach his old-fashion hammer and use it to pry his hand from the wall. Seelergirl drove him to the hospital, with an inch of nail sticking out on either side of his middle finger. It was only after the doctors removed the nail that it started bleeding but they knew what to do. The bone was chipped but not broken. No serious permanent damage. Just the pain and inconvenience of not being able to use it for a couple of weeks. And the embarrassment he feels that having made an amateur's mistake. Accidents happen.

OUCH!
Glad no major damage was done.

It is terrible to be fingered for such pain by mysterious powers ...

Ouch Seeler. I hope he recovers well.

We have an extra pet living with us. We have seen evidence of it for a little while. Then, hubby looked at the grease can and saw it. A mouse. The grease was pretty liquid, so he was covered and trapped. We figured that took care of the problem. Well, we actually saw a mouse last night. We have two traps set and have been gathering ideas to deal with mice. Avoiding having them that is.

Get a cat.:cat:

I had gerbils for many years, as a parent, and as a teacher. I don't mind rodents in cages. Not so crazy about them running around in a house though!

We had a couple mice in the house one fall. Chased one out of the kitchen and, lo and behold, it reappeared. Finally, traced them to a hole in a wall in the garage so I stuffed it temporarily and then filled it at the first opportunity. Haven't seen them since.

The little mouse was a cute guy. That being said, I don't want him in my home. I miss having a cat. We're in a fifth wheel and don't want the litter box. Apparently even the scent of cat is enough to repel mice. I've thought of getting some gently used litter from my sister and putting it in a box in the storage area under the trailer. I also learned that getting a shed snake skin and other things that smell like snake will repel them. No, we will not be getting a pet snake. :)

I doubt if the scent of tea or coffee will have any effect in repelling mice. However, it still has its attractions for most of us. Coffee's up! Help yourself.

Heh Sous can you imagine that as the dirt of what's out of the question ... the greatest mysteries? Yah ... hoo dah thunk it into the M'th of darkness ... as something that isn't how it appears ... deficient domains? Thus the formless void of the Shadows beyond us! --- Plato in Timaeus? Tim' slides ... bi!

How does dirt gather ... spontaneous gravity ... an unseen force causing crazy conjugational lives ... pas dunne in stories so as to be obscure for those wishing not to know naught but desires ... a practical experience for dark powers to immerse transparent soul into ... that's d' Light! Still spontaneous ... unbidden but perhaps impetuous ... something corrupt authority would put down! That's the word as dirt ...
