I hope the coffee is strong. We're going in to Victoria for a doctor's appointment today. I'm still tired from the treatment on Friday. I will be passenger and can relax at least. This is a next step in the journey and I'm looking forward to meeting her.

I'm heading out to Victoria area tomorrow morning too - for a visit with my dear old Dad for a week. Packing my gardening gloves, some knitting, some reading ... to keep me busy while FOX News is on TV in between watching baseball games :-)

Will you have your radiation treatment in Victoria or can it be closer to home? Fingers crossed for closer to home ....

Radiation will be in Victoria. That's better than if we were still up north. I'd have to travel to Vancouver or Kelowna I think. I'll be able to stay at the Cancer society lodge which is just a few blocks from the Cancer Agency. They give rides over to treatment. I'd come in on Monday and leave Friday so four nights away from home. We visited the lodge on our first trip in. It seems nice and peaceful. I'm good with hanging there, reading, sleeping, knitting etc. I'd probably also be able to visit friends in town too if I wanted. Apparently radiation is very tiring so who knows how I'll be. I might just be glad to hermit.

Everything else I need is here. I have no complaints.

Safe travels Carolla. I laughed at your FOX News comment, but it will probably be less funny having to endure it. Keep your sense of humour as a shield against 'fake news'. Prayer helps too!

Good morning! Let there be more baseball games and less FOX Noise! Let there be warming beverages to ease our way into the morning and the day!

Baseball games, hockey, basketball, soccer, football – there any other games during the seasons?
I have learned to read, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles, and only look up Seelerman shouts at the TV. I used to knit or sew. Sometimes I record a program I want to see and watch it when there are no sports available.
I don't really mind: I'm not big on TV. We both enjoyed watching Jeopardy, and hate to miss it.

Tabitha just left after a lovely visit. Ceylon green tea and biscuits under the umbrella on my porch. An introduction to Lucy, who tried, unsuccessfully, to scare her. She had a great time at her quilting course, and I enjoyed hearing about it. I adore the Haliburton School of the Arts, and showed Katy the wire sculpted heron (that looks very little like a heron, and whose head is currently buried deep in a monster hosta) that I made there 2-3 years ago. Jessie and I used to go up there every summer. That's where I learned the Zentangle technique as well.

This week, I ended my membership at the local UCC. I noticed that I had still read the bulletin, looking for something different and then made the mistake to comment on something by email to the new minister. He didn’t get what I was saying but was rather offended. That made it clear to me that I have no business to comment on anything they are doing, because I have move away so far and am very unlikely to return. I didn’t really feel that I had to leave the UCC as a denomination, but since the membership is bound to congregational membership, I thought I might as well.
I personally feel like my religious affiliation has been a personal evolution- and I consider myself not as a “ none” , but as a “ all of it”- starting Catholic, becoming protestant ( or evangelical- as Giancarlo would say), then choosing UCC and now being adherent to Quakers. Kind of the way I am still the child, the adolescent, the mother and soon to be the senior. It felt right.

Coffee is ready! Hot water available for other beverages. No membership or ID of any kind necessary. Enjoy.

Good morning. Thanks for the coffee. It is delicious. I've got some fresh local blueberries here. They are quite wonderful this year. I've brought some yogurt to go with them if anyone is interested.

I find when out in the field of pastoral fixation that many get off ended by strange information and other peoples practical exposures to real life that may be hostile as a heated hill ... Zeus? Change comes with difficulty ... then we're out of it ...

Imagine evolution as the understanding of word changing over time as enforced by word authorities posing as Fairy Seize ... then there is the alternate versions ... inhibited by powers and excess energies ... thus we slog into rest periods ... dark spots ... Black Hole things ... abstractly imaginative compared to the institutionalized by a constitution they try and break ... no names added!

So sad about the fire at Grace United in Sudbury. It is just up the road from my son's old house and near the one he will be moving into in September. He doesn't go to church, but this is one that I would visit if I were staying at his place (which I will, when he gets his new house).
