Safe travels Carolla. I laughed at your FOX News comment, but it will probably be less funny having to endure it. Keep your sense of humour as a shield against 'fake news'. Prayer helps too!I'm heading out to Victoria area tomorrow morning too - for a visit with my dear old Dad for a week. Packing my gardening gloves, some knitting, some reading ... to keep me busy while FOX News is on TV in between watching baseball games![]()
Thanks Nancy - FOX is on right now - Mueller Day you know .... I'm nodding & smiling & keeping my nose in the computer ... knitting is up next!! My prayer shawl will be full of prayers!!Safe travels Carolla. I laughed at your FOX News comment, but it will probably be less funny having to endure it. I've got some fresh local blueberries here. They are quite wonderful this year.
This week, I ended my membership at the local UCC. I noticed that I had still read the bulletin, looking for something different and then made the mistake to comment on something by email to the new minister. He didn’t get what I was saying but was rather offended. That made it clear to me that I have no business to comment on anything they are doing, because I have move away so far and am very unlikely to return. I didn’t really feel that I had to leave the UCC as a denomination, but since the membership is bound to congregational membership, I thought I might as well.
I personally feel like my religious affiliation has been a personal evolution- and I consider myself not as a “ none” , but as a “ all of it”- starting Catholic, becoming protestant ( or evangelical- as Giancarlo would say), then choosing UCC and now being adherent to Quakers. Kind of the way I am still the child, the adolescent, the mother and soon to be the senior. It felt right.
