I'm feeling low. Worked out, that saps energy. This has been quite a cool summer, garden is so far behind. Some heat finally allowed it to take off, but unless Sept stays warm it likely won't be enough for many things.
Chemguy is gone (just a few days).
I miss the somewhat sporadic get together with my nephews from when my sister was on maternity leave - she's been back at work for over a year now, but I do miss it more in that summer when I think I could be taking my nephews to the lake, meeting up at some of the festivals, etc.
Having to get a doctor's note just to do "normal things" is a reminder I'm not "normal".
Things have felt off with my parents, my Dad isn't handling his emotions great with my Grandma's death - mother's day was hard on both our sides due to different reasons.
Mother in law's death anniversary is coming up.
And while I wasn't super close with Punkin's there was a bit of looking things up - she was my age with some of the posts I saw. I am aware of mortality risk with my health issues, but still I do think of myself as getting 'old'. Hard to see that specific time frame go by with Punkin's.

I had an interesting experience yesterday. Went to a council meeting in the neighbouring county with a group of local Extinction Rebellion people. The meeting was about an application of a large company to change the zoning of some land they owned in the middle of a forest so they can assemble explosives there that are to be used to plug up oil and gas wells to be decommissioned. They had already build the structure which was mobile buildings, because legally, they could only operate in Canada if they have a place anywhere in Canada, even if they don’t use it. Presently, they were operating by shipping the product from Texas. The presenting guy from the company was very good at making his case. The about 100 people present had concerns about what happens with the property and possible use for fracking, because once rezoned, they could do whatever they want after. The company called it a project for two years, but wouldn’t / couldn’t say what happens afterwards. He was very convincing, but people speaking including the councillors where questioning a lot. However, one had the impression they would go for it.
half the public was actually not living directly locally, but XRebellion supporters, I was impressed that council perceived the interest of the public as important and were’t going to make a rash decision ( at thay point, 2.5 hours were gone). Then, one councillor thought she could push the project through and made the move to vote. Everybody thought that that was the end of it- but council defeated the application!

Eep this rain needs to stop for a bit!
It absolutely just POURED from the sky for a bit. Very little visibility and then when it lightened up the street was flooded until the rain stopped for a few minutes, allowing the storm drains to catch up.
My garden boxes drain well, the area around them has always drained well. I had to move some pots that were around the garden boxes as they were totally water logged and not draining due to the puddles built up on the walking path & mulch. There were also puddles in the garden boxes.

Good morning! In heat or in monsoon (seem to be the two biggies across the country right now) the coffee cart is ready to provide warming beverages, maybe a muffin or donut, and, for some reason or reasons unknown, a bowl of fresh lime wedges. Enjoy.

We had a similar storm here. Actually, two in a row. The first had hail, too. By the time it was all over, the ponds in our poorly drained back lot were up to the hub caps of the Hino trucks one of our divisions uses.

Well - I might have my coffee iced today - our forecast is for a humidex value of 47 degrees!! I am grateful for a home with central air to dehumidify our space & worry about those who are not able to seek respite. We had bits of 'tropical' rain yesterday - but it did not amount to much in my rain gauge, surprisingly. Also did not do anything to relieve the actual humidity. Yesterday there was a bit of a breeze - today is very still. Will mostly stay inside & get some household chores done I guess.
The rain generated a drippy environment here ... almost tropical sense that the environment has flipped out with its leader ... turtled with drumpt ... overturned and gone under ... ninjahs ... undone substances?
As retired water technician ... resembles unseen vespers about fluid sols ... these too flow under the sun and moonlighting like that mule forging onward ...
Did you know that vegetation grows most at night? Thus that stretching feeling from the shadows of rest ... the period obscured by knowledge out there ... re arranging your chief gonad! Some define this a split brae in dis ease ... leaving mortals a bit shaky on what's for sure ...
The dark pool wrinkles and ripples ... under moonlight ... causing alien doings ... storms of great foreign passion ... strangelove bummers?
I read the other day that peppers with 4 cheeks on the bottom were male while 3 checkers were female ... perhaps maleficent ...thus third looks accursig the lookers ... although secretly they dress that way for alternate reason! Then there is piperazines ... causing allergies in isolated cases ... due to particular agonists in the genes! That false well NG ... may appear as hives!

Always recall you can't tell an authority anything ... so have a good story when beconned into the tent ... it is just another cover ...

Good morning. It's very pleasant here. Bit cooler, humidity lifted, nice breeze. Took dog for a swim this a.m. at 5:30. I cannot seem to get up early enough to beat the "sand zamboni" down at the beach on the weekends at present, so we've been hitting a tiny 'beach' downtown, which works okay, but confuses Lucy about which direction she's supposed to carry the stick (normally, I carry it westbound, she carries it back eastbound to the car).

My boyfriend and I have decided to become dog owners! We are getting a corgi. He will be coming home in mid August so for the next few weeks we are puppy proofing the house. We started yesterday by putting a fence across the back of our yard. We tried earlier in the week when it wasn’t quite as hot but realized we needed another pair of hands. Luckily we were done before noon but it was still HOT!
Spent the rest of yesterday with a friend and her 2.5year old. She’s due with their second any day now too. Her daughter is one smart cookie and I really enjoy spending time with her . I’m not usually a baby or kid person but I sure do love that little kiddo.
