I used to live in that area. I seem to remember on Sunday mornings, clergy of every denomination driving all over hell's half acre to get to another charge a fair distance away.Zion United in Carnarvon closed down last year, merging with Minden. They were already part of the same multi-point charge so it's not as huge a change as two charges merging. Maple Lake, also in that charge, remains for now but did also vote on closing and merging with Minden. My aunt and uncle were members at Zion and continue to be involved. She told us a couple weeks ago at a family gathering that a woman was interested in buying the building for use as a music school. Seems like a good use for an old church.
And we're having a nice solid downfall of rain here, which may put paid to my plans to bbq a burger for dinner, but which will refill the rainbarrel.
I really like the system Chemguy set up, using the groundwater. Nice to have consistent water in the barrels regardless of the rain. Sump pump certain does run more often after the ridiculous downpour we had last week, but it still spreads it out over a longer period. And we're having a nice solid downfall of rain here, which may put paid to my plans to bbq a burger for dinner, but which will refill the rainbarrel.
I would so love to have a handy-ish, inventive sort of person around here. Like my sister, or my cousin, actually. I did not luck out, and my lunch date/not-date (an old friend who moved down east many years ago and is back for a holiday AND who tried to call it a date first) certainly doesn't qualify. Interest in tackling Chopin on an electronic keyboard does not qualify one to work on watering systems...
It really isn't any more work than connecting multiple barrels together.I would so love to have a handy-ish, inventive sort of person around here. Like my sister, or my cousin, actually. And I have seen pics of Tabitha's vehicle loaded for her trip back home, and all I have to say is "holy s**t, great Tetris skills"!
