Being able to reserve is one of the key parts. You don't have to arrive early. You don't have to stand in line. To me, that is worth it, and if you have health issues even more so.

Dbox is supposed to be great, per a friend who has gone. I have never gone. sorry.

Do you know the difference between AVX and IMAX?

Really enjoyed Dbox the one time I tried it. The movie I saw was Godzilla, and I set my seat at maximum effect. I recommend everyone try Dbox at least once.

I Dbox you hears Jae ... so you could hear debells ... some say the devil speaking to you of knowledge and intelligence to displace blind faith of emotional attacks!

There's a medical disclaimer for it, not sure if it would be safe for me.

our only theatre in town Landmark only has reserved seats with no extra charge. You get your seat number if you reserve on line, at the unstaffed kiosk or at the counter. Everyone and always

Went ahead with the AVX. First time I've ordered movie tickets online I think.
I'll let you know what I think after!

Fillings 2, 3 & 4 finished. Three days until the next set of fillings are done.
The one thing that is different is that these are resin (ie tooth coloured) versus silver . My mouth may know reflect as much light in future.

Back from the movie. Seats were definitely nicer. Really easy to find - concert venues could learn something from them! Usually my knees stiffen up really quickly. I think these seats are lower to the ground? No knee or hip pain which was nice - I've been dealing with that since high school I think when it comes to movies. The recline a fair bit too. Had a large guy in front of me - large in both respects. He was pretty far back and I still had plenty of room to cross/uncross my legs although I didn't need to do that. They were also spaced a bit wider apart - might be an issue for people who like to whisper comments back and forth. I felt kinda far away from Chemguy!

I can't really compare screen quality as it's been so long since I've seen a normal 3D movie. The screen didn't seem much bigger than regular theatres. I picked up on sound differences, but it's not really something that I care about too much. Volume wise this one, especially with the ads at the beginning was way better than the 18A movie I was at recently. You know how they had to put guidelines on the volume of tv commercials? Last trip I felt like they might need to extend that to movies!

I was just curious about the price difference, instead of points (and I still don't even know all of that info, I just know normally this movie would have been 1500 points, regular one is 1000, today was 500 for any movie).
3D +$3
AVX+$3
3D&AVIX +$5

Paying an extra $5 isn't really worth it to me, although I would do it if a group was interested. I would consider paying an extra $3 for the nicer seats though!

I'm a little frustrated. I was heading to Ont. in March for my dad's 85th birthday. Booked with New Leaf Airlines. Drat! They just announced that they are refunding tickets due to licensing issues. Back to the drawing board for flights-and lots more $

Unfortunate after finding a great deal Tabitha, but better the issue came about now and not much closer - say once actually at the airport!

Flights re-booked. It just cost more but all is ok.
And yes Dad and Mom live in a house and both drive and are generally healthy. They will have been married 65 years come Thanksgiving.

That's a real good stretch, Tab. They are so connected to each other at that point. Hope they have some plans for some assisted living soon.

We celebrated my mom & Dad's 65th wedding anniversary as well, Tabitha. Such an amazing #. Mom & Dad were born in 1925, so a few years ahead of your parents. Mom has been gone 5 years now. They were married in 1944.

Good to hear of couples celebrating their 85th (or so) birthdays, and 65th anniversaries while still relatively healthy and enjoying life. There is hope for Seelerman and me. We passed the 50th anniversary a few years ago, and we were in our 20s when we got married in 1963. (Many people of our generation got married while still in their teens, and many of my childhood friends had children of their own starting school when I got married.)

Mom and Dad are on the wait list for an apartment in the seniors complex but are really doing well on their own. Dad gardens all their vegetables that mom freezes. They rent rent out the basement suite. Dad still bikes, cross country skis and curls several times a week. Mom attends exercise class 2 times a week and teaches Bridge. She is part of a palliative support team. They are traveling to Switzerland this year and taking a Caribbean cruise. They spent 11 days with me last June in a bridge tournament here. Physically able and cognitive sharp.
