Room For All

Executive Minister died here Monday ... thus he failed to get to the meeting with us today on closing the church ... the death leaves us in a state of uncertainty which some pious folk say is a wrong impression ... sad all around the attitude folk have on ends, means and deontological ongoings ...

Hard positions also seem to be temporal and abstract ... slipping into the shadow ... the future is yet unseen ... still ...

Good morning! Happy midweek! Skiing success for coaches and skiers, deep thoughts and insights to ponder, the stuff that will arise today, we gather round the Coffee Cart to discuss, sort out, and offer support. We do this over tea and coffee, and baked goodies. Today we have bagels and various spreads for them. The coffee is fresh brewed, tea water at the boiling point, and the bagels warm and nicely toasted. Come join the conversations! All is ready, all are welcome. Come and get it!

Sad for the loss but, wow, that is really going to make things tougher, isn't it? RIP for the minister and crossing fingers that the congregation can find their way through.

Luce, sorry to hear about the minister and the on-going closure drama, a feature of many of our lives over the years.

In minorly irritating news, my only decorative feature, my fancy nails, have had to be shut down for a couple of months, over a bacterial infection. OTOH, there is a new Indian grocery store around the corner that sells a wyrd and wonderful ayurvedic hair oil, so I'll just fuss over the curls, I guess.

Good morning! Thanks, P3, for getting the coffee and tea water going. Today we remember the passing of an executive minister, and the turmoil that event causes many congregations, particularly to those who are going through the process of closing. For this passing and the people whom it affects, we hold them in our thoughts. As we discuss this, and the other things that are going on, we join in spirit round the Coffee Cart, here the coffee is always fresh brewed, the tea water always ready, and the cinnamon buns fresh and warm from the bakery. Everything is ready, and all are welcome. Come join the conversations!

In the end all of this will be denied, spit out or rejected as not desired ... thus the great nothing expands exponentially ... it may be an expression of space-time and immaterialist ... like a balloon on a stick! These may resembles great power in the last days of expansionism in a restricted land ... there just isn't any mores ...

Kind 've out there like thoughts in a tight domain of wills ... you just know something will fail! Thus descents ... it comes down to that ...

There are books on revolving straight lines ... geometry ... a lead into algebra and complex math and weird calculations ... after that disorder and further chaos ...

Depends on the recording ...

Good morning @Redbaron

Church closings are so incredibly difficult. A former congregation of mine closed a few years ago and the members scattered. The church I attend now hired their musician which has been great.

We have a core group from a church which was struggling back in the day. A fairly large contingent of former West Hill members. And a group of folks from another local church which also closed. We have seen some further growth in recent years. Modest but growth all the same.

All this just to note there is plenty of grief involved in these church closures and reshuffling of congregations. I have never been part of a formal amalgamation process but I hear they present many challenges too.

Thanks for hosting and bringing the virtual cinnamon buns.

The late ministers main concern was where the scattered congregation was going ... as one of the younger (at near 79) it appears they were headed in the same direction as I ... the cemetery! However they did not want to hear that the future of the church was in the younger collective ... but the didn't like adolescence in the sanctuary because of the racket ... mature corruption doesn't relate to rackets? Thus the non stick condition a criteria for slip and snake oil! Is a condition like a critical situation that can go on tilt because of the rushing about ... to flow into the Black Pool ... a street in the UK ... there are mix-ups there also that few will recollect or admit to! Loess ... disc 'l aid ... dirt excluded? Eire jars ... rendered to edger's!

Ever note how things in virtue are shut down by power and driven into the ultimate place beyond power? Gentile dreams ... and alas brute dreams ... all made out of nothing so as to determine defined things from either side of the medium ...

Powers always appear to declare poles don't exist ... thus cosmos collapses into lumps ... materialistic?

I don't know the term.
What is an executive minister?

A supervisor of higher position of the ladder of oversight! There are implications ... often overlooked ... yet many are hooked on the position thing even if they don't understand the complexities of conflict resolution ... its stressful! Just to learn the stuff ... few wish to know or relate to the stress ... thus the silent killer!

I remain an underling, a support idiot ... why? This I cannot answer because what some of them believe is beyond me ... irrational? Maybe a lonely "irrationale" ... obsolete as some words go ... artificial elimination? Seminal ... Seminole ... ancient ...

I just bought a new helmet yesterday. I've had 3 falls in the past 12 months where I banged my head. I'm at the age where I can't pull rabbits out of hats like I used to. My helmet was overdue for replacement anyway, but I made sure to get one this season. Plus, each new generation of helmets are better.
Not sure about safety, but the new helmet is way lighter. I don't care if it's made of papier mache, it feels like it's not there. Which makes people more likely to wear helmets.

And to think I passed on the carbon fibre model because it was $800 (less 20% off). In another 7 years I'll need a new one, so those will probably be more affordable.

I need to check my bike helmet. I think I replaced it (the old one had some damage from being dropped, not a crash) but since I didn't bike much last season, I kind of forget. My goal is get back on the bike more this year. Not actually sure why I drifted into mostly walking last year. Still a bit early but another week or two maybe. Roads are the dirtiest I have seen in years. Tells you how much sanding they had to do this winter.

Yeah, rule of thumb for helmets is 5 or even 3 years, I recall. My race helmet was 10 years old. But what it was protecting wasn't in "like new" condition, so I was fine with it.

Actually, I couldn't find a helmet that fit me that was on a good sale. The good helmets disappear from the shelves. That's why I only got 20% off, and it was the last good helmet in a popular Collingwood store.
