We woke to a very light snow. The forecast said it would get heavier as the day wore on. It has remained light tough - almost like powder. The birds seem to think that nasty weather is on its way because they have been very busy at the feeders. Usually the different varieties feed at different times - chickadees, pine grosbeaks, redpolls etc.. Today they were all trying for a space at the feeder in a glorious mix.
 
We are getting cold and snow over the weekend. It’s already -8. The snow will be in the south with up to 20 cm, here I am getting only 3. My old neighbour, who has been in the hospital the past 6 weeks, has his 93 rd birthday on Sunday. He is not doing well. He is on thickened fluids and mashed food and overall does not want to eat. I think he just wants to go. His wife is getting more confused, because she also doesn’t eat and drink enough. She has never lived alone in her life. It only sinks in slowly that he can’t return to the Assisted Living facility. Tensions between her and the daughter who means well, but has a “General Major” kind of expressing her concern.
I visited on Thursday eve and she had ‘t eaten all day because she couldn’t find her teeth. I made soup and eventually found the teeth wrapped up in tissue in the tissue box.

As decorations come down, as purging continues, and holiday plans are made and carried out, as we get used to writing '2024' on the checks, let us pause for a few moments of conversation and community round the Coffee Cart, relaxing in the comfortable chairs in the Room. It is best if the teeth of old wisdom is hidden so the young can experience the bite of mist portions ... everything becomes unclear as Irrational Exuberance* sets in!

* the title of a real text! It appears ultimate wisdom is toothless as few wish to be familiar (perhaps just ordinary joust)! Word is like that as a god ... metaphorical and unreal! It is only an icon, sign, or Semite thing ... especially when alloyed!

We had a rainy day yesterday so I was able to finish a book I was only finishing to see where it went. It was a book a friend gave me and not something I'd typically read. It turned out to be promoting the version of "Christianity" I can't stomach. My open minded reading only lasted until a health crisis and a predictable and ridiculous message.

On to a book I chose now.
 
So how are the Christmas lights in your area?

On my walk from the bus last night, there were at least 6houses with decked oot in lights of the changing variety

I don't do lights, although I inherited a set of those flashy things for the walls that I may try next year. I like the light in the dark evenings for a while, at least.

Is anything really ready for what is coming?

It is said civil war can be negotiated with allowance that the emperor can put the social order of things down ... so there is something sub dude to rise later in essence of unfinished business! Powers find this tough to face ... or in denial even to put a face on iđe ... an -ite biddy shadow ... caring being a biddy? Karen ...

The stuff we don't know is extensive ... yet some are always in conflict with that declaring they know God 'n everything! O' ration ... depends on who spits it out!

Still too early for local crows to be awake. When I leave for Church, they will be waiting for me.
 
Good morning. I still smell of smoke from yesterday's campfire. Yes, I found myself in the direct path of the smoke several times until the breeze settled down. My cousin goes out on Jeep adventures. She invited me to one today and I accepted. I hope that wasn't a crazy idea. :) The plan is to visit a spot near the airport for a campfire and smokies with some obstacles along the way. I didn't get specifics on those....... did I mention her Jeep? She likes to go along crazy off-road trails.
