Back home after travelling to two places to celebrate two grandkids' birthdays, and son's birthday today. The two-year old lives four hours away and we stayed there a couple of days to visit. He sure knows how to say 'me' 'mine' and 'no'! His mom and dad are expecting a baby in September and they are just a little worried about how the two-year-old will accept him. But Grandma and Grandpa saw a two-year-old with loads of love and a great sense of humour. Maybe that's because we get to visit and then leave! Or maybe it's because he really, truly is wonderful. It's fun being grandparents.

Good Morning! We celebrate birthdays of grandkids and joyful visits, hoping the 2-year-old can expand his vocabulary soon. For the anticipation of another birth, and hopes for safe and uneventful delivery; as well as all the other things that come up. Let is gather round the Coffee Cart once again, with fresh boiled water for tea, and freshly perked coffee, for chat and friendship.

Is man-kind bought to life in chaos ... given that love would blind them to any intelligence of getting out of the state early ... in which case they would have learned more before jumping into ide blindly ...

The great unknown has its own reason! This may counter real life with a Jew-elle of virtue ... inconvenient truth in the gathering of physical wealth that will lead to a diminishing end of the aforesaid --- it is in economic theory but obliterated for alternate reasons ... matriarchal into-ide?

Why some males have a female within ... there's a word for it that is infrequently applied! The old animæ/animus rub! Someone in red cover ... bloody hungry regarding their deprivations! Sol's lost --- Armstrong on the length of night ... obliterating function! Like religion on science ... as some observe!

Is psyche a science not yet observed and thus a wyrd art? Alien in words we have not familiarized our self with ... now without! Beyond me how folk do this ...

My son was about the same age/stage when his sister was born. He was very protective and loving, but his toilet training took a total nosedive for 6 months. *shrugs*

Fire situation is still bad. Grass fire at a school in a neighbouring community. There were 15 grass fires in 1 area of the city yesterday. More people being asked to evacuate, more emergency alerts coming through.

The province sucks at showing evacuation areas. On the alerts they map out alert areas not evacuation areas, one I got Sat included multiple bedroom communities and I think the Edmonton airport was included. So people need to actually figure out the area using roads from the written details. There's a fire map including bans, fires, and evacuation areas, but not connected to the alerts and not updated quickly.

Oh and the provincial map doesn't include municipal jurisdiction info. So none of the city fires show up, I didn't look at the time but the evacuation area very close to the city last week likely wasn't on their as I don't think the province oversees that county. They did include fire bsns/restrictions. Bit if a piecemeal mess.

The city of Fort St John, BC is on evacuation alert. Areas north have been evacuated. Grande Prairie had fires within the city. Thankfully they were contained

Good morning! Happy Tuesday! We think of those affected by wildfires, with evacuation warnings and orders. May they, and the people struggling to bring the fires under control, be safe. We think of 2-yrs-old, whose families are expecting another birth; may they learn to get along with the new addition. The Coffee Cart is ready, for these and other conversations. Come on in and join the conversation.

The Din goes on over jurisdiction to the point that accusation of what lies where become a horrid layup! Investigation is also downplayed as governing powers hate ultimate questions ... if you know and understood ... all over would be glowing blazes ... the earth would gleam ... an icon of radiance ...

This is the first morning where I am having a 2nd cup of coffee and not rushing off to the hospital in over a week.
From having cut back my coffee to two or maybe three, my intake has risen significantly, including Tim's.

I am happy to sit in the room and read some of the other posts this morning for a bit, then will gladly dig into my consulting work. I have a bunch of analysis to do, and it is a good way to be able to move out of thoughts of "what's next"

I call it "caffeine creep".

I hope that means your man is continuing to improve @JayneWonders.

We're "looking forward" to a forecast high of 32 today. It got that warm yesterday and will continue to be warm for the week. There's no talk of fire risk here yet. The BC and AB Peace River region is burning up. We know several who have been evacuated. The FN community where I used to do some work has been asked to leave their homes. We know several people who have been evacuated. Scary times.

Another busy day as we transition from holidays. Yesterday included nearly 5 hours of driving to get our dog back from friends, have a medical appointment and try to get a sim card for my old phone. Today includes getting winter tires replaced by summer tires, have a load of top soil delivered, get groceries, have a dental appointment, and, hopefully, get a sim card for my old phone. Tomorrow will be a medical appointment and off to the greenhouse to get some trees delivered, and hairdresser for hoth of us.

I'm tired just reading all you have to do @jimkenney12! I had an exceedingly lazy day yesterday and will have a partially lazy day....because I fell and did a real number on my foot and ankle on Sunday. I had to use a walker in the house yesterday, and I was in a lot of pain. It doesn't help that it is on the leg with a bum hip...Makes me realize that I will ask for a referral for hip replacement at my next appointment (August). So I have been icing and elevating. But I think I needed this break from my way-too-busy life. I needed to stay home and do things here. I just wish the 'break' had been forced on me in a less painful way!

Ugh definitely an air quality change, true for most of the province. It's gotten better since early this morning here, but is predicted to get worse tonight. Chemguy is in Calgary it's awful there. My parents are concerned as my Dad has been told to stay away from smoke.

This is about an hour south of Grande Prairie yesterday during the day. I'm so glad I'm not there. My lungs would not be happy.

We worry about our friends who are in the area. The news makes it sound like only Alberta is burning. The Alberta situation is absolutely terrible. The BC Peace is also on fire. Dawson Creek can't take any more evacuees. People will now have to go to Prince George which is five hours away. Dawson is only an hour away. People are taking evacuees into their homes too so that's good. It's neat to see people helping each other.

Hubby spoke to a friend who has been evacuated. They live in a log home that has a steel roof. Neighbours have a pond that is a source of water. The fire fighting folks have provided some bladders of water. The fire is on their road and it is believed it was started by someone on an ATV. A spark from the vehicle probably started it. If the fire comes near their home they'll be able to use sprinklers to spray it with water. They plan to go back and check it out tonight.
