Not a week yet since I finished radiation. I am still taking it easy. What a useless feeling

.@Pinga, how long did you feel like this. It seemed like you were running a business a week

later.

My grandkids were here today and this made me laugh. My son said its dad's birthday

tomorrow, A*** said, "who?" Son said, "Grandpa" She said, 'Who do you think will blow

out the candles for him?"

Talk tomorrow. Good Night.

The internet, netflix, podcasts, etc. were all made for recovery days I think. ❤

I am trying to remember how long after treatment ended before I went back to work.

Seems to me it was around 12 weeks? Last treatment was in early November, and then back to work in Feb?

Crazyheart, your work now is recovering your strength. Rest, enjoy participating on the WonderCafe, and spending time with family. It's fun to remember cute, funny, clever and insightful things our grandchildren say when they are little. Of course a concern for little ones is the birthday candles.

Hey crazyheart - rest & recovery time is FAR FROM useless! It's crucial healing work that your body is doing - so thank it every day for the hard work that is going on! You will be back to your usual spunky self in a while ... patience is hard tho, I appreciate that.

Glad your little ones came for a visit - that's so rejuvenating isn't it? We had 4 kids here on Canada Day (ages 4 - almost 12). Watching the parade with them is such an exciting and joyful time. In the afternoon my shady yard was filled with squeals & screams (good thing the neighbours were away!) as they all played in the sprinkler, making up all kinds of games themselves. They took a mid afternoon break to warm up on a sunny picnic blanket, eat some fruit & icecream & then they were back at it again - just like you will be!

Well said Seeler and Carolla. Would your neighbours really think that children playing are NOISE? It is one of my most treasured natural sounds.

Spend your well earned recovery time doing what feels 'right' to you at any time. That may be a gentle stroll to the door and back or sitting sorting out old photos or sleeping - anything goes that helps your body recover from the treatment it has received!

I spent my childhood living in the school-house -which backed onto the school - in various locations in the Aussie bush.
Strangely, it didn't matter which school, that "sound" was always familiar and the same.......And, as an adult, who travelled overseas, that sound was still the same -even in non-English countries. No matter wherever I am, that "sound" brings back instant childhood.......

Crazy, enjoy your recovery period -your "relaxation" will end when the roofer visits. ;)

i'm now imagining a book series
and a movie
based on The Roofer
"visiting"
an ancient order of Roofers begun by St. Roof?

Nah, too serious and mystical. I'm thinking a comedy about a roofer who gets into hot water due to his dalliances with the ladies whose roofs he does. The kind of thing you could do PG-13 by keeping it all nudge-nudge wink-wink but that we could also do a "hard R" cut of.
