My understanding is that there is nothing we have to do to receive God's grace. Grace is receiving what we don't deserve . Why would we even have to be "aligned" in order for God to give it to us?
Very good point. My question would then be this:
If we receive grace from God, should we be thankful it? If so how is that done? What does it look like? Does it take shape in our attitude, actions, decisions?
Is it possible that we look at it this way?
We are all receiving grace from God. The same 'amount' of grace. But some waste it, cast it away, pollute it. Whereas others cherish it, hold on to it, keep it clean. Each of these never deserved grace from God to begin with, but they reacted to it differently. Are they the same? My view is no. When I mean to be 'aligned' I am trying to describe the latter case.
Hence, another way of viewing the matter could be as follows:
A better person is no more than a person who carries, cherishes, maintains, shares more of the same grace they received from God to their surrounding. A worst person is worst to the decree that they waste, abuse, taint, hold back the same grace they received from God from their surrounding. Naturally, a better person cannot be the same as a worst person.
This being said what would be the traits of a person who holds more of God's grace within them? What are they like? How do they behave? Where can they be found?
