Covid 19 Vaccine

Apparently, Ontario has hit its stage 2 criteria for vaccination (70% one dose, 20% fully). And our positivity rate is very good (under 1.5% for like three days running). However, we aren't at three weeks on stage 1 yet and the provincial medical officer doesn't think we should reduce that so technically, we shouldn't hit stage 2 until July 2, but I could see them relenting and back that up a couple days to get it in for Canada Day.

I hope they don't, it might ruin all the progress we're making.

Ditto but this is Doug Ford we are talking about. And even David Williams said he wouldn't recommend changing it more than day or two, which this would be. Though maybe William didn't do the math first to realize that "1 or 2 days" opened things up for a major holiday. Damn it, Jim, he's a doctor not a statistician.

Perhaps the most famous COVID case here in London was Olympic gold-medallist (two man bobsled in 2018) Alex Kopacz. So he agreed to do a vaccination promo for the health unit patterned on the famous Rick Mercer rants.

Here it's all about having vaccine protection and hospitalizations, so 2 weeks for the first doses to take effect and we're open.
This is way too open this soon IMO, at least some municipalities will still have their masking bylaws in.

Alberta going to no restrictions on July 1 seems reckless and hasty to me. I hope it doesn't backfire and cause a "relapse"

Agreed, and I'm confused by the decision of the steps. Still can't go use my sister's bathroom. Canada Day though (assuming that 70% was hit) we could cram 50 people in her house for a buffet if we wanted to. Maybe maskless, unsure of the mask bylaw.

I would care a little less if it would only impact those who are COVID hoaxers but we all know that's not who will be likely to suffer the most.

The rich and deserving? Ego nomos collapse ... Nomadic disport ... unfair wonder! Thus winners get it ... in some spots nothing to loosen ... sphincters ... thus chit flies ... sometimes called paper wasps ... white Anglo Saxon sting that glows ... abstract descent? Undreamt of ...

And it's happening, restrictions for specific settings may have some rules though. Before it was only long term care that was mentioned, now hospitals are too. Would be great if the public health act will still cover masks there, as well as other places - like crowded dynalife waiting rooms! - the bylaw here never covered healthcare facilities.

Chemguy managed to beat the rush for his 2nd vaccine.
He wasn't up yet to schedule, but a coworker's wife is a pharmacist and so he got his info down on a backup waitlist, was told this morning he could get it today.
This afternoon 2nd dose bookings expanded to the month he got his first.

My spouse got his 2nd yesterday. I'm so happy. He did find himself tired today. Slept most of the afternoon.

Waterloo region has highest count in ontario. Appears to be delta ripping through unvaccinated population

Other than ... because Stampede I'm confused about timing.
2nd dose scheduling just opened up for as 12+, as long as it has been a minimum of 4 weeks since the 1st. Why not do a step between 2 and 3 and wait for that full opening until people can get protected by the 2nd dose if they choose?. Ie wait 2+ weeks after we hit a timeframe where there are actually a decent amount of time slots not taken.

I've been tired and feeling off since my second shot on Monday. I started to feel better this afternoon. I'm sure the early morning and travel on Wednesday contributed to the fatigue. Still, I'm sure the vaccine was a significant factor

The dash is on in light of disposed socialization for sake of a rush in economy that can also be rendered into something hard to believe when the red in face are so against the pink ...

Thus the bloom goes off Eros and hate erupts ... all according to the approach of the Great Code of what is sacred and hidden ... some thought and process required ... yet you can get through hierarchical education by regurgitation ...

One can learn negative and critical processing by prescient attributes of the fundamentals ... in some Eire observations! Still taken to be disruptive to those established, fixed, saved and reserved regarding deeper concepts about thread splits ... dissociation?

Local health unit has announced that all shots, first and second, for 18+ will now be Moderna. They aren't getting any more Pfizer imminently so they are saving it for the 12-17 group for whom there is no alternative.

So, I guess I am getting Moderna on Tuesday.

Im getting fed up with all the "bait and switch".
I know theyre both mRna but still.....

How is it a "bait and switch"? At no time were we promised that we would get the same vaccine on the second round. My original second dose booking doesn't even show what I got for first dose, just the date, time, and location for the second. It's cancelled now, since I rebooked it. The rebook explicitly says you may not get the same vaccine on second dose and you have to check a box to agree to that (this is in MLHU's system, which is different from the provincial system). I imagine that if I hadn't rebooked, my odds of getting the same would have been higher but then I wouldn't be fully vaccinated until early September (August 24 plus two weeks).

I'm annoyed with NACI. Some of the stuff they have come out with doesn't match evidence and then they flip flop later. I think it does contribute to some hesitancy.
Some changes are expected with new things, but at the very least keep things current or put out a statement about needing to do analysis.
