Taking a moment to reflect on last year. Despite the turmoil with kids I got 7 quilts finsihed and one top done (to get quilted next year). I'm impressed with myself as I didn't think it was that many. They range in size from baby to 74 inch square and some are complex and others quite simple.

You must be nearq wilted out!

Is that eternally relational?

Does create levity ... said to be good for lifting souls out of heavy brotherhood ...

Know well by the sisterhood ... ayh yah!

Junior just left for the churches (youth group invited) New Years eve party. He is in charge of the fireworks. I briefly thought if I am missing something...and decided I am not. Will watch some TV, likely German TV over the net, as I don't have cable, and go to bed before midnight.

We've often done that; and awoken to the New Year rested and refreshed .

However last evening our square dance club held a special dance/party. Lots of laughter, dancing, games (Seelerman and I tied with another couple in 'The Newlywed Game'), finger foods, sunshine punch, party hats and noise-makers, Auld Lang Syne, hugs all round. And home in bed by 1:00 am, sober.
Plans for the day - take it easy this morning, bowling this afternoon, then out to Seelergirl's where she is having Pete's mother, sister and bil, and us for dinner.

And I wish a year for everyone of clarifying their own desires and inquiring of Self whether these desires align with authentic Self. Only if you'd like to, though. A year of giving more and imposing less.

Happy New Year!

And, hey, it's actually looking like winter here for once. Chilly and snowy all day today.

Been like that here, too. There's a little skiff of snow over that wet soggy snow that has all frozen solid. Makes it a bit slippery underfoot, particularly when being dragged from smell to smell by 110 lbs of none-too-obedient hounds.

Ah, I remember those days. Trying to walk our beagle in the snowy park as he ran from snowbank to snowbank shoving his muzzle up to the eyes in the snow seeking some scent or other. While, of course, I stood there freezing my a** off.

The tree is down, the ornaments packed away in their box, the lights in another, the tree in it's original box. We've talked about this being the last year for this tree (it's probably about ten years old), so next fall we will have to think about giving it away or selling it on kijii. Our new Roomba has cleaned the livingroom and kitchen floors. The jury is still out on its usefulness - my sister has had one for a year and loves it. We are still watching it carefully. It takes an hour or so to 'sweep' the floors. But when I learn to trust it enough it should be able to do this unsupervised - I will be able to set it to come out of its resting place and do its job while I am having computer time in the den, or even out getting groceries.
The big nativity set is staying up for another week. I can't take it down before epiphany.

My mom said to me yesterday, "Well, I guess :) it's time to take the Christmas ^ lights down."

"Christmas ^ doesn't end until January 5th." I replied.

The lights remain up ^.

I hate "undecorating" - the house looks bare afterward. So I will leave everything in place, probably until next weekend.

@Seeler - if there's a buy/sell facebook group in your area I find they work well. I feel more comfortable using that (actually there are multiples for my area!) over something like Kijiji as people get booted from the group and the areas can be smaller and I've seen a number of Christmas trees being sold this year on them.
