My ignore list is empty. I don't have him, or anyone else, on my list.

Waterfall, to my knowledge, no moderator has Chansen on ignore.
One of our practices is to notify the team if we have someone on ignore.
@Redbaron, @ChemGal , @GordW , you may wish to respond to Waterfall's query regarding ignore.
It's an assumption supported by his requests to you about an apology that are never acknowledged either way.
Someone doesnt need to press ignore to ignore, right?

You told @chansen on the Crux thread not too long ago you had him on Ignore. But of course you are an Admin and not a Mod.
Absolutely. I am quite open about my ignore list.

I'm not a mod!
I have never been a mod.
I don't ban folks
I dont' make moderator decisions.
I'm not sure how much clearer I can be.

Note: I was an admin on the Facebook group. I also wasn't a moderator there, though I helped set up some of the methods that the moderators used and got them more moderators. But that is Facebook, not wondercafe2.

The ignore is a function of the software. For example, if you want to ignore me, there are a few ways. YOu can hover over my image of the flowers, a popup will show, and on my screen, the word "ignore" is in the middle bottom. Click on it, and take whatever actions are required.

But in the interest of transparency here.

You had temporary mod priveleges a while ago, right? It might have just been a brief period.

Oooh, very brief. I also did not use them. They were "if the ship is going down, redbaron or gord w could reach out to me".
They were gone as soon as I could get rid of them.
Also, to be also transparent, I lost council rights for a while as part of that reversal. It's what caused some of my frustration regarding a thread. I couldn't see the thread as was no longer part of any group that had rights to read it.

Thankyou, I'm aware how to use the ignore button.
Curious why he directs his request to you about an apology then?

Because she was the initial source of the anger that became the moderators report. And John is not here.

Hell, I'd accept the current moderators coming together and rejecting that report.

Or, again, just ban me.

No problem.

Whether I'm vindicated or banned, I'll stand right here and say quite plainly that it was a f***ing mistake.

Sorry, I read your post as not knowing how to use ignore.

The apology item used to be directed to RevJohn, if I remember correctly, but he isn't around anymore.
Anything related to a member is a function of the moderators. Always has been. Always will be.
The exception is spammers or threats, where an admin may take action immediately.

Moderators can reach out to any member and seek input.
People who are in conflict can reach out to any member and seek input.
If you were in council, or have been in council, you might see us bashing questions around. This si because sometimes there is a technical solution (admins) and a human action (moderators).
In this bullying thread, we have seen all sorts of people provide input and suggestions, and ask clarifying questions. It was started by Paradox3 who has never been a mod. That kind of energy and investment in seeking solutions goes along with being someone who cares about wondercafe.

You are always making a clear distinction between Council and the Moderator group.

Yet on the new Interpersonal Conflict thread, opened in purple ink, it begins by saying Council has reviewed the Reports received.

Why would Council be reviewing Reports? You have been telling us that the mods are responsible for dealing with the members here.

It seems like you guys aren't all on the same page with this.

The distinction is not between Council and Moderators, but between Admins and Moderators, who are both on Council. Admins focus more on keeping the lights on and the doors open, Mods focus on dealing with problems in the forums, reported or not. At least that is how I wrote the Council documentation that is available for perusal in the News & Business forum. And that was voted on and approved by the membership.

However, in many cases, discussion of an issue is done in full Council, not just confined to the moderators, and the admins can and do contribute to those discussions, or at least I did. And even when I did not set out to contribute, my input was sometimes sought given that I had far more forum experience than most others here (I have been a member on one forum site for nearly 20 years now). Also, some things like bans actually require admin involvement (I did set things up to make it easier for mods to do it on their own) so it is hard to have a totally rigid separation in any case.

I also will note that to the moderator, and ask them to ensure to use Moderators in future.

Note: Mendalla was always that more "super admin". He has tons of experience as a moderator. He was willing to share his wisdom.
I, on the other hand, was and have been less engaged.
I do NOT read reports. I don't even know they exist, unless someone tells me, or I have to log into Pinga. It is not my business, and to be honest, I don't want the headache.

@Mendalla how do I go about either getting the record set straight regarding the coerced apology, or getting banned from here?

I know from past experience that mods loooove to flip out at swearing, so is that my best course of action?

I'm not walking away this time. You guys decide which way it goes.

Sorry, I think I may have glossed over something earlier.
What does getting the record set straight require for you?
