On the important subject of pope's apoloogy - I think this statement from the United Church is key for us 'settler folks' - to listen -

Papal Statement to Residential Institution Survivors

We at the United Church acknowledge the complexity of emotions brought up this week by the Papal visit and the Pope’s message to survivors of residential institutions, their families, and their communities. Only they can decide whether this was the response they wanted to TRC Call to Action 58.

We urge non-Indigenous people to continue to respectfully follow the discussion that is taking place, to listen to what is being said and why. Listen to survivors, to Indigenous activists and organizations, and to people such as the former TRC commissioners, all of whom have expressed their opinions on this. And above all, please continue to do what you can do to help fulfill the other 93 Calls to Action.

Good morning - still sweltering here, but a little less humid today. Husband is very slowly beginning to feel better from COVID. Went to the health centre yesterday for assessment of his VERY sore throat; "just" part of this COVID variant it seems - which was kind of good news - no bacterial infection like strep on top of what's already going on. Aleve & salt water gargles & ricola lozenges seem helpful.

Dtr is working with a florist yesterday & today on flowers for two weddings today. Can't imagine how they will keep all the flowers looking fresh in this heat, as both are outdoor events!!

Others have gone off to beautiful long Anderson Lake for wakeboarding adventures :) We are all hoping to go tomorrow. Don't think I'll be wake boarding but I'm an excellent cheering section!! So we 'old folks' are chilling at home - will be making some moose meat burgers to BBQ for supper - that should be interesting :) Stay well everyone!

I used to use the numbing lozenges before the HAE diagnosis. Cepacol made one that tasted decent it was green maybe green apple?

Has been an eventful day for me, the lazy person. Went to our local Arts and Crafts festival this morning with my dog-walking neighbour. Quite unpleasant. She made several purchases, and it takes her a LOOOONGGG time (so long that if it was near a Pokestop I got two spins; at least 10 minutes; it took her 20 to buy 3 of those tea towels you can hang over your oven door handle). It was very, very busy, fairly hot, and infused with the energy of angry dogs, who should, generally, not be taken to arts & crafts festivals (ancient overweight Basset in the red wagon, yeah...). However, I acquired (quickly), a pair of long capri-length organic cotton pants (success) and a porcelain stemless wineglass with a thumb indent (not so much).

Then, finally, finished tidying up the front porch (installing the table, which had been on its side at the front of the garage for two months - I love cast aluminum, as it is light and never rusts), moving out the plant sale stuff I was keeping/planting/etc. elsewhere and umbrella and chairs and cushions in. Got out hibiscus herbal tea lemonade, glasses, ordered dinner from a local burg place, sister picked it up after work, and we had a long visit and yack on the porch.

Good morning! As we continue to unpack the Pope's visit, as we celebrate Art sand Crafts and Plants and Whatnot sales, let us pause for conversation around the coffee table, and maybe discuss our plans for the great Civic Holiday weekend that is upon us. (Did you remember to get your Civic Holiday cards in the mail?)

Good morning. It's a lovely sunny day here today. We had a restful alone day yesterday. Being lazy seems to have helped my knee and hamstrings. Here's hoping.

Today we're going in to town to visit friends. Tomorrow we'll head on our way south.

Remember it is all word play unless you have an understanding of the depths of what's inked ... then it sinks in!

Word means nothing to many ... so they never keep it ... impossible to retain? Emotions can leave a person speechless ... thus unreasoned?

Why I gave up speaking for script and doodling ... some say right out of the mysterious noodle ... a thing denied in essence? One artist used them for tempura ... a thing confined in templars? Things of la R's or gamma!

Remains in the dark and mystery! Because of chief liars ... Lyon ... countered only by bell AD ... or legend of routers ... PIG?

One has to sniff it out as mush ... mash or other chewed over matter ... finicky folk my just spit it straight out without process ...

Expect discourse when dealing with the dysfunctional ... operating on emotion alone! Intelligence turns up in the most alien places ... well hidden in the deeps ... imagine batfish ... overhead?

Crazy overhead matter?

We always search the hero's ... while the alternate sneaks in unconsciously! Emotional input without intellectual context!

The rule continues ... love is powerful and can do a lot of creative destructive activity! Some filter required ...

If the truth is that painful ... compose something the brutes will not understand ... thus myths! You there has to be something down there ...

The powerful forewords won't have time to figure it out ... thus articles fall ... an OHM'd experience ... especially when it hits!

Cloudy and mild this morning. Sunnier and warmer now but has not hit 30 yet. Today is a day for not dirty work. Made a small correction in the connection between the railing for the front steps and a major correction for the steps down into the garage, installed the new line for the clothesline ( went to put out a second load of laundry on Thursday and the first load was on the ground as the line had broken), and removed a few handfuls of Japanese beetles from the raspberries and asparagus. Time for another nap and then decide what we are doing for supper.

Good morning! We celebrate the flourishing of folk arts, and continue to experience the summertime weather. We mark the civic holiday, which this year happens to fall on Emancipation Day, which we also celebrate. We gather around the coffee cart in conversation and community.Come on in. (By the way, just have to say I love Maude's pinafore!)
