Lack of notice is less than ideal for triggers too. Worked out and got the call during, phototherapy soon, then vaccine. Phototherapy clinic was closed on Friday for the weekend so don't want to skip today.

I'm very surprised, so far 2nd dose is easier than 1st dose. If I still feel this good tomorrow I think I will be checking to see if I was accidently just given saline - it happened at a mass clinic.
Not complaining about side effects being less this time around, but it's odd! My arm is a little sore and even that seems to be diminishing.

I found out I'm in their first day set. So this is also the first set of 2nd doses the pharmacy is giving.

Nova Scotia now has drive through vaccinating clinics. I spoke to junior about his fears. We agreed that I am taking him to a drive through clinic- he can listen to his music in the car and have a barf bucket at his feet. It’s also just down the road from my place, so if he has to go to the bathroom, it wouldn’t be far. The first appointments were already taken by the time I had him talked into it, but NS os pretty good with getting the vaccinations done, so I am hoping there will be more coming soon.

Just to make sure the message gets out there, foreign actors are actively trying to use social media influencers to plant vaccine misinformation. In this case, a mysterious PR firm tried to get European influencers to carry a FALSE story about Pfizer causing deaths and claimed to be based in the UK. Research by multiple sources has, in fact, traced them to Moscow. The goal appears to be to cast doubt on Western vaccines in favour of the Russian Sputnik V.

I don't think that goal will work. It's just going to lead to people not getting vaccinated with any of them, even if Sputnik were an option.

Yesterday in the pharmacy the only others I saw the entire time were workers. Too bad a place like that isn't something where it's possible to book into knowing that, although the size of the pharmacy makes it likely.
There was one clinic set up for people with - I think- sensory processing disorder but I bet they would do the fearful too.

My arm is very sore today. Shoulder as well and back stiff although hard to tell if that's the vaccine.
My arm is swollen, dunno if normal or HAE, will find out with infusion today I guess. I don't plan on treating this like it's an attack unless it gets worse. Not covid arm, it's about a palm sized area that's extra sore and inflamed but no redness.

My son is getting his first shot today. Originally had an appointment mid-June but also put himself on a waiting list at a pharmacy and the pharmacy called. Not sure what he's getting but given that AZ has been "retired" for first shot, should be Pfizer or Moderna.

So, Ontario is now reopening 2nd shots. 80+ are now able to book a second shot starting Monday (I know from my 80something neighbour they were originally early July). 70+ follow in a couple weeks and then there's a schedule laid out based on when people got their first shot. In general, it looks like we might be getting our second shots a month-ish earlier.

Little M is reporting headache and fatigue post-first shot. He got Moderna, the first family member that I know of to do so.

My husband got Moderna. He was fine. Most of us got Pfizer.

I remember when people were concerned re their 2nd dose being so far out and I was trying to explain scheduling and why you would book long and then bring in

I'm thankful my guess has proven correct

BC has reduced the interval between doses to 8 weeks from 16. I'm hoping to get my invite soon. It would be great if I could get it before we (hopefully) leave the island on the 16th. I can get it on the mainland too

There was no booking long here. Max bookings were for those who fell with 42 days or less, wasn't done for the 16 week intervals.

I was surprised the pharmacy had finished their list for 1st doses, my sister said it was likely because it's Moderna they are using and most people want Pfizer.

I really do not understand why so many would want Pfizer over Moderna. Unless someone has a very specific reason like 1 ingredient or they will be going elsewhere for the other dose and that place has Pfizer and not Moderna or something like that they are too similar IMO.

Not sure this is the right forum - but well - there was a huge "free the North - free the Children" event in the riverfront park in my area today - so disturbing to see photos of the crowds and nary a mask in sight. Lots of police standing by - doing nothing but watching. We ARE still under 'stay at home orders' (which these people are protesting, along with vaccinations, mandatory masking etc) with a "strict" limit of outdoor gatherings of maximum 5 people. Must have been at least 500 in the park.

Oh, and on my way up to her house with my sister, she pointed out a few houses on the way (she lives in a resort village on Georgian Bay) that were "party houses" last weekend - fancy 'cottage' rentals with 8 individual cars parked at the same large "summer home". Now, granted, she and I were in a car together (and she was half wearing the gaiter she wears under helmet), but she's actually been the only contact in my bubble since the pandemic began (we ate Christmas dinner together on the 27th). I spoke to the guy she lives with while I was there, but from many more than 6' away, outside.

You know if they weren't wearing seatbelts when they left, they'd be ticketed.
Wonder what would happen if they had their drivers licences suspended for the duration of the stay at home order?

We humans are a fickle bunch ~ as soon as we get vaccines that will save us from 'death by covid' we seem to have the need to create a hierarchy ~ "my vaccine is better than yours" blah blah blah...
