Good morning! For residences and vehicles occupied by mice, the frustrations and anxieties of changing doctors, for all other things that cause conversations, we gather round the cart to discuss and drink hot beverages. All things are ready, enjoy.

Oh my goodness. I would die. I get that you learn how to live with it. Hmm, I wonder if having a pet snake that could wander at night would help. Guess you would need a lot of snakes!
 
So - re mice. A friend who has a large cruising motorcycle told us this fall that bikers use Bounce dryer sheets to repel mice - tuck them in here & there on & around the bike when putting it away for the winter. So we get a lot of mice & sometimes rats in our old detached garage & this year I bought some Bounce sheets & left lots sitting around in the garage - and .... drum roll ... NO mice or rats in our garage traps over the winter!! Plus the garage now smells fresh! LOL
 
Unfortunately, I am equally repelled by Bounce sheets as a mouse. I do strategic detours as I walk to avoid Bounce-laden dryer vents, which make me wheeze.

True - we don't use any fabric softener & mostly use fragrance free detergents in our household. And for sure - when walking by neighbours it's often easy to tell by the scent in the air who's using the dryer!

Our first sign we had a mouse inside was the dog food in the silicone oven mitt in the drawer. We thought my brother-in-law had pranked us. We were wrong. :) No mice now and no dog food left out overnight. We could do that with Helios (pre-mouse) because he ate when he needed. We can't with Baela anyway
 
No sign of mouse in car. I hope it's not an airtight car; I am not fond of "dead mouse smell". I did crack a window open a few inches today, but whether it could climb up, I don't know, unless it got to a head rest and launched itself out...

Oh, yes, my son got that advice off the internet. Used it around the atvs and lawn tractor. Result: mice used it as nesting material.

My daughter had several mice living in her car. She only found evidence every morning. Her husband set a trap at night, and caught several over a few days. She was a little grossed out!
 
I must say, btw, that I am not an "amateur" mouse remover. I've just never had one spring backwards so unexpectedly... And honestly, old car, could give a s**t about upholstery, but don't madly want to deal with the dog catching it while she's in there. And I've seen them leap, and I've shoo'd squirrels and chipmunks out of the house, and was quite impressed with the athleticism, but leaping out of the top of a window 2" down?

And a spontaneous poll, bet those who are worried a bit about rodents didn't have them as childhood pets. I had both hamsters and gerbils; my kids had mice, rats, guinea pigs. On top of a "normal" number of dogs and cats, at appropriate points. My Siamese cats used to babysit my son's rats while he cleaned their cage.
 
My brother-in-law commented that I must be dangerous to know and I didn't understand.

Then he reminded me.

If it wasn't for covid, I would have attended funerals for

A 50 yr old in apr
Plus all the more normal deaths in expected ages

i am so tired of sending sympathy cards and not giving hugs

I now buy sympathy cards a dozen at a time at the store

As a kid I had a hamster and my sister had mice that would come back home with her during school breaks.
I worry about rodents though, ones outside are more likely to carry diseases, plus there's the allergy factor.

Chemguy set his car out at a farm for a year when he paused the insurance, mice set up a nest in the trunk. I couldn't go in there until it was well cleaned out.
