GordW ----your quote -------Indeed. The problem is that
some Christians claim that in Christ the old covenant has been set aside or superseded
unsafe says ----OH how wrong you GordW are in stating
some Christians claim this -------God Himself claims this ----GordW -----Whenever a new Covenant is brought in the old on is made obsolete -----God does not mix Covenants
-Jesus brought in the New Covenant of Grace -----Jesus fulfilled the Law and the Prophets and He defeated the Curse of the Law -----but it applies only to those who receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour -----The Blessings in Deuteronomy 28 are in effect today for all believers
The Law was perfect but man was unable to keep them so they were under the Curse all the time -----the Curses in Deuteronomy 28 are still in effect today for all unbelievers ------no matter who they are ------ and NO man can keep the Laws today -----the Laws were given to show the Jews their transgressions ------and that is scriptural ---

1 Timothy 1:9 (GW)

laws are not intended for people who have God’s approval. Laws are intended for lawbreakers and rebels, for ungodly people and sinners, for those who think nothing is holy or sacred, for those who kill their fathers, their mothers, or other people.
