How very exciting GW! Can't believe it's been 4 years since you were studying there ... enjoy your visit! And hopefully traffic will be okay - google maps has a great traffic feature in the GTA - I love it!

The time is finally here, I'm off to England! Leaving or the airport in about 15minutes. I've heard the 401 is closed Eastbound around James Snow so I'll have to find an alternate root. It hasn't actually felt like it's going to happen until today. I haven't seen most of my friends for 4 years now! I am so excited!!!!
enjoy the cool weather :3

Got a call from my doctor today. There's good potential that things will be seriously changing soon. Not sure what I can or cannot say yet, I'll be waiting to hear more. Wish me luck - it could go well, or it could cause problems, big unknowns!

Good to have hope, chemgal.

I am in my home away from home this week. I am trying to laugh through the dysfunction . I will be here every other week for a few months

Whilst here, a valued contractor gave notice so now addressing that loss as well. Thankfully she gave almost 4 weeks notice. I will miss her skills and joy.

I recognize that I have fallen off of my health wagon to the point where it is not going to be easy to get back on. I need to seek balance. I see many tired folks

Had someone get so mad they threw a pen and walked out of a meeting. Sadly, no one was shocked. The level of angst is higher than I have ever seen across a wider swath of folks

Pinga, your work situation sounds very frustrating, dealing with lots of work crises. Hopefully things level out a bit there.

When it comes to the health wagon, it might not be as easy as when you were last really into it, but it won't be like when you first started either. It's ok to have to back off on a program for a while when life gets difficult. Keep up the little things - your diet might not be perfect, but keep up with the veggies. You might not be able to do all the exercising, but even once every week or two helps, and try getting some of that skipping in from time to time or whatever works for you, even 10 minutes might help with some of that work stress! Take the quick break at work, run up and down the stairs once or twice - I know it can be hard to grab those breaks, but people take the washroom breaks and that shouldn't take much longer. Besides - it's better than getting so frustrated you throw a pen :)

When you are able to go back, it won't be so bad. One of reasons my instructor thinks I'll progress quickly is because of what I used to do. I had more time off than what you will, along with my condition to worry about.

My neighbour across the street hasn't been seen for a few weeks.
She is 49 with two adult children and she and her husband became grandparents about 6 weeks ago.
She had a heart attack July 29. They did surgery that night and put in a stent.
They still don't know the amount of damage to the heart.

Be happy with what we have. It could be so much worse, I think.

Pinga-Chemgal does speak with wisdom.
In terms of health-something is better than nothing. Take walks, exercise in the hotel pool, does the hotel have a workout room? While it might not be cross fit-try and fit something in most days and yes do watch the diet. You don't want to go back where you were.
My older sister has lost weight-about the same as you have. It is making a difference in what she can do now.
With the dysfunction at work I bet you are glad to be counting the months down till retirement.

Tabitha, I am counting down. I had friends who talked me down from quitting and giving up a chunk of pension. There is a point when it is impossible to do one's job in a situation, but that is also something that can be stated as effective dismissal. I'm figuring this is my last challenge, to help this person manage professionals. lol, only 325 business days - less 47 vacation days!

Crazyheart, that is sad re your neighbour. .

Ahhhh ... Friday evening! I've had such a busy week ... glad to just relax a bit now & catch up with friends. I hope we might welcome some new members to our room soon ... are you there newbies? Come on in & say hello - we're a pretty friendly bunch here in this room.

Tomorrow I want to go off to Black Creek Pioneer Village for the annual "Quilts at the Creek" show - 200 gorgeous colourful quilts displayed throughout the wonderful village. So I'm hoping the weather cooperates for a visit. I'd also like to get working on my front garden bed that I had to dig up last week due to sewer work ... poor yard is suffering this summer. And, it's BuskerFest in my neighbourhood - the village is alive all weekend with amazing entertainers from around the world. So many opportunities!

What's everyone else up to?

Rain here the last two days - so much for my walking program that I started with my neighbour a few weeks ago. We try to get out four times a week - this week we've only made it twice so far. It would be so easy to just let it slide.
Today was bowling day. I felt good going in and had a good day with two strikes and a spare in three games and scores of 84, 82, 93. Not bad when my average is 76.
Worked on a short story this week for my writers' group. I'd like to share it with you - but it's three pages long. To long to post here. WC1 had a blog feature where I occasionally posted short stories or essays or sermons.

driving home tomorrow, then headed to the engagement party.

Sunday will be a day of house stuff , family time and seeing Dad.

Bon voyage, Greywolf! Travel safely, and have a blast!

"LUCK", ChemGal! Hope the changes are ones that are beneficial for you.

Pinga, you will get back on the health wagon . . . might not be today, or tomorrow, but you will, because you know the benefits you have had when you have followed your program. Don't be too hard on yourself . . . but be honest with yourself - and you will return once again to what you know is best for you.

When I was working many, many years ago, in an employment office (I was the secretary), the employment officer refused an applicant a job . . . he ripped the telephone off my desk and threw it across the room . . . I was shocked! I think I was "in shock" . . . it was scary. Didn't know what he was going to do next. But he left the office and my boss called security.

I got more details this afternoon about the possible new plan. I really don't think it's going to work out for me, but I'm keeping my appointment for Monday. I've also been off the berinert, I would have treated last night for my exercise class today, but didn't. I will treat any attack, but hoping I can at least make it to Monday when I'll know more.

i spent some of this evening picking blackberries; this season's crop is so yummy eating them is just like biting into blackberry pie.

i must've picked an american kilogram of them tonight

i've tried freezing them in a tupperware container in layers ('blackberries have layers!' 'thanks donkey') separated by wax paper

tomorrow dad and i will be trying to pick s'more and maybe head on over to the local NoFrills
