What does the Bible mean that we are not to judge others?

We've all agreed it is a horrible image; purple has been applied and there's been conversation with unsafe. Would everyone feel better if I edited the two posts they appear in (Unsafe's and waterfall's - describing it as gross) to remove the image?
Here is my personal opinion: It is an image which I, myself, find offensive.

But I declined to Report it and request its removal.

If it is allowed to stand, it provides insight into the theology of a particular poster. Better we understand where she is coming from . . . this is my thinking.

Once apon a time ... the world had its very first English translation in the Bible.

The loss of a monopoly on Scripture was of serious concern to Rome.

The Catholic Church condemned the Wycliffe Bible.

Anyone caught reading it was subject to heavy fines.

Some of Wycliffe’s supporters were burned at the stake with the Wycliffe Bible hung around their necks.

But the 'Word' was out, and people could read for themselves what 'God' had said.

The people of the Middle Ages became more interested in the Bible, and literacy increased.

When Wycliffe died in 1384, did his teachings die with him?

Wycliffe’s disciples, derisively called Lollards (meaning “mumblers”) carried on.

In fact, Wycliffe’s ideas spread as far as Bohemia where a priest named John Hus applied them.

Hus continued to spread reform in Europe until he was martyred for his beliefs in 1415.

A failed Lollard rebellion in 1414 resulted in Wycliffe’s posthumous condemnation at the Council of Constance in 1415.

The council, which also burned Hus, condemned Wycliffe on 260 different counts.

Then, in 1428, Wycliffe’s remains were exhumed, his bones were burned, and his ashes were scattered into a nearby river.

Was Wycliffe’s impact destroyed?

Well, it got deleted. There's a description of it on the thread if anyone really needs pointers to evangelical theology...

I hate being a moderator. I hate making decisions, and I don't like them being wrong. This is my one and only term at this; like being Board Chair, you really only HAVE do do it once, right?

When it comes to making judgments using the bible, I'm not sure how to trust a document that says, clearly, in one place, "If you're not for me, you're against me", and equally clearly in another spot, "If you're not against me, you're for me." These two statements do NOT MEAN THE SAME THING.

sigh....does context count? I am so cognizant of what's fallen to you, and know it must be uncomfortable sometimes....making those calls. Strength to you.

I can see why it's removed. I wouldn't have, because if unsafe wants to look that bad I'm inclined to oblige her. But I understand.

How many people in real life have adopted your beliefs because of you? n mmn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn mn v vb 7 mbhmbn h mm m 7jmn 67tbyyyyyyyyyyyym cSABG I

For one horrifying moment I thought unsafe might be right. It sent me spiralling into a state of cognitive dissonance -that, if not for Zac, would have lasted the rest of my life........

The “Bible as word of God” .... spending endless hours arguing about who Jesus was, comparing scriptures, finding hidden meanings, proving their interpretations right, and proving the interpretations of others wrong ... all to bypass 'Doing'?. I have no problem with searching the scriptures but I also like to suppose ... if there was not one copy of scripture left in print ... would 'God' be literally dead or spiritually dead?

Not dead ... just truly departed! The thought remains however distorted!

But you have to admit the contradictoriness of this dark pool of thought ... that is possibly a mood disorder and thus more emotional than not! Thus muddied and high-eared waters as floats Eire ... and word carried on!

Hostilities and contrariness continue down here as some great power placed it ... until the great escape. Trump says you may not leave just yet ... you are required to assist in the construction of fencing ... thus the touchee! That magi touch! After contact with mad sects ... all thought was displaced ... love can do that so be moderate ... add some mean to the compassion!

You may not understand this until a heap of words are inspected in a pile ... hammer OID ... that's how a vision of the end may hit you if you face it ... fastidiously ... or just another fascist as broke down fighting what comes naturally without clues ... you learn something after the facts ... this may be cabled to the parents from afar! Out of town communications about EL opes .. operations in the ultimate safety of distance from the bi guns ... accept the uncertainty about what you believed you knew! Thus the intuitive unsafe condition ... trans parental oversight?

Being a moderator here sounds like a tough job. I am totally fine with your call on this one.

Do as you like.....personally I think its better to confront it and see it for what it is....now that image looks ridiculous and foolish.

I needed a break from WC2 (and other social media) for a whole lot of reasons. I drop in today for the first time in weeks and one of the first things I come across is a meme of the Bible in the shape of a handgun. Sick. Truly sick. I may leave again for several weeks after that. Truly sick.

revsdd, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I tended to think that some posters were annoying and did no real harm. I simply skipped over their posts. But I realize that they can do us real harm. Too many people and simply drop out and we don't hear from them again – unless we recognize them on Facebook.

revsdd (and others who feel this way) - take a break if you feel you need to. But come back when you feel refreshed. This is a good site. Many of us forward to our regular visits for discussion, study, and fellowship. But we need you to share your insight and help us to keep the discussion going. Don't let people like unsafe take over our site or close us down. This place is too important to allow that to happen.

Bette the Red says she hates being a moderator. I agree it sounds like a tough job. I just want to let you know that you are appreciated. It's easy to step back and let someone else do it, but somebody has to do it. Thank you for volunteering. You are much appreciated.
