Governing of the people or for the people raises enigmas of what people are chosen ... to confine?

Are the demos' social orders a flop ... or just false Nous to Great minds of emotional overwhelming nature? No names mentioned as Niche ...
 
another strange occurance
during Nutmeg and i romantic getaway and winter storm exfoliation xperience:
we were sheltering in a local hostel from the fierce winter storm due to the kindly hostelkeeper. others were doing so as well. one of the shelterers was disabled and we talked a bit on it. i as Canada's rep lol tried to tell him that Canada has a big problem with adopting what they told the UN they would agree to: social model of disability and tried to xplain it to him. he seemed nonplussed at the model.

then after i find out he had trouble understanding or he didnt listen or something when he started in on so you have an issue with the disabled so you shoulda voted for Trump.

wow. Trump everywhere. fits into any convo here. sheesh.

and here i was trying to go for Canada's obligations and to introduce a what i think of as a neat model for disability.

we rode the bus all the way back 2 the interior. as i left i wished him well.
 
The world has just taken an extremely dangerous turn. Trump, who first downplayed the foofaraw about Russia accused by Britain about the attack on a Russian spy in Britain, has now come full circle, withdrawing large numbers of diplomatic staff from Russia which is retaliating by withdrawing its staff from the U.S. And much of the UN has joined the American position.

This is commonly the prelude to war.

To add to it, Trump will soon be visiting Putin - and it's hard to believe this will benefit peace.

I also note that Kim Jong un has taken a secret and mysterious trip to China. And China has placed its army on full alert.
Trump will be meeting, to with him.

I've closely followed credible news media on this. And it seem obvious that British premier Theresa May has been lying through her teeth. There is NO evidence the chemical used in the attempted murder comes from Russia - and that opinion comes from high-ranking British scientists in charge of chemical weapons. And there are many, many other reasons to doubt May. But we aren't hearing that from most of our news media.

And John Bolton is now the key figure in Washington.

There is a possibility, maybe more than that, that American big money wants these wars NOW. The U.S. is declining as a world power and China, in particular, is growing. The Project for the New American Century was designed to meet this danger. American big money intends to rule the world. It is quite likely the decision that the U.S. must move now or never for world conquest.
 
Pride never settles down until after a blow up that screws everything ... the hubris nemesis syndrome! Those that believe in panacea do not accept syndromes as too complex for the simplicity approach ...

Always approach from the improbable side as the alternate doesn't wish to know ... thus conflict and opposition ... try stepping over and looking back ... you may be caught dead to rite ... a threshold experience like NDE ... unbelievable ... if you've never mentally had a pilgrimage ...

Get out with yah ... like the Prodigal Son ... reflect back ... few will believe ... many will buy into the admonishment and say so ... according to what alternately lies there ... the salient sol business?

Are there insipient words to describe the outlandish ... getting off the straight line as Ba'aL with the Lord ... tis a dark veil ... fringe of sub-con science ...

Never address an authority with truth ... could cost you a head man ... like commoners wasted on silver trays ... things for supporting grai' ll's? Mystical far out containers ... different or varied shades as observed from angles ...

Is your angle to bury something or turn it over ...

For someone more current, I would suggest former NDP MPP (now retired from politics and returned to ministry) Rev. Cheri DiNovo. She has been pretty outspoken both as a minister and as a politician though perhaps isn't that well known outside Ontario.
 
they always have been. Our heritage is largely British - and the Church of England always supported the establishment, right through the most mutderous years of empire building. Throughout history, the Catholic church was usually the same. You will find relatively few people anywhere who opposed the behaviour of the state on religious grounds.

I don't think that would be a problem in our particular congregation. Our spiritual leader is chair of ISARC, we have a all-candidates meeting focussing on social justice questions prior to every election at every level, but she's not the sort to write angry letters unless there's a specific cause that needs highlighting. And we'd probably make it a joint letter from the Board anyway...

I think you would. You'd like Hillhurst too; they're doing cool stuff as well. I like congregations that look outwards. Too often, in these days of demographic shifts, and the necessity to pay bills, congregations end up navel-gazing until they close. I'd speculate that one good indicator of the health of a congregation is the health and activity of the Outreach Team.

The whole church should be the Outreach Team. All Christians are called to participate in the redemptive mission of God.
 
And I think you could argue that each of us is a supporter of the Outreach Team when we show up to make sandwiches for the Homeless Outreach van, when we contribute to the shoeboxes we make up for kids in the shelter to give to their parents for Mother's Day, when we participate in the Kairos Walk on Good Friday afternoon, etc. However, you need a core team to decide on goals and projects. I support Outreach and all of its initiatives, but my talents are better spent on the Christian Ed team. Some people give their talents to pastoral visiting. If everyone is on EVERY team, you get burnout and duplication of effort.
