21 c right now -- in the sun feels like i could get a tan -- walking through the local forest felt like a jungle -- thick air (tho not as hot as in the summer); saw something i've never seen before -- murders of crows on the ground at the base of trees -- when i came closer, they flew away, but lingered nearby, calling...they were congregating at ant nests (the local punkers -- red heads & black bodies) -- also at one across the street

wait? what's that sound? i can feel it in my liver...feelsounds like...a trumpet...:3

I saw my first robin this week ... a promptly got two days of below zero highs and flurries. Gotta love living in Southwestern Ontario, where the only thing less predictable than the weather is ... well ... okay, nothing is less predictable than Southwestern Ontario weather:(. On the upside, it kept the local hill open for another weekend so Little M could get in what might be his last ski run (based on the current forecast).

We've had a few warm days here in the Okanagan Valley of BC, with highs near 20. The decidous trees are beginning to leave out, the apricots and early plums are blossoming in the orchards, and the lilacs show tiny clusters of blossoms. An early spring. There is talk of a summer drought.

Spring rain. Icky ugly grey days for the past week or more - except a few brief hours of clear. Today is cold and rainy. The cherry blossoms on the tree outside my window - just checked - and the one across the street have blown away - but some leaves are trying to sprout on them.

It's spring here today! Yesterday was overcast for quite a while, but still nice.
Today is sunny. I think it's going to be a while before we hit the 20s, but I'll take the teens while we have them!

Luckily the snow is melting pretty fast too. Yesterday, in the front it only existed where it was piled from shovelling. Half the backyard including all my garden boxes were snow free. I think it's all gone from the front - I'll find out when I get out for a while today to enjoy it.

-15 degrees this morning. My composter has finally emerged from the snow- I can see it, but can't get there yet- still can't open my back door because of 4 ft of snow drift. Just had another 10 cm over the weekend- but it is melting faster.
I am going to Germany in May- they are having their spring flowers blooming right now.

A few warmer days - the snow is settling fast (it was light snow but lots of it).
I've been resisting the urge to pack away my winter duds and get out the light bright colours of spring (and maybe a shopping trip).
But I'm not sure we won't have snow again before this is gone.
And I think that our Easter Sunrise service on the riverbank might be held with us standing in snow. Last year we watched huge chunks of ice floating down the river - I don't think we'll have to worry about that - the river is still frozen.

Mrs. Anteater, enjoy your planning for your trip to Germany. Nice to have something to look forward to.

Wow, you folks have had a lot of snow.

We had a light dusting last evening, but, it is gone this morning.

Have a good time in Germany--and tell us a bit about your visit when you came back!:)

That's what I'm hoping for. I know to expect snow in April or even May but I'm hoping it will be warm enough long enough for all of the current stuff to melt..

We are getting close in Southwestern Ontario. The shady parts of my yard still have a ways to go but the rest is basically snow-free and there does not seem to be any significant accumulations forecast, just flurries and wet (ie. short lived) snow. So maybe, just maybe, winter is ending here.

Thorn? Is that a pri 'kin miasma?

The things people need to get eM goan ... you know koan or goan as expressed in Hindi ... that following eye? Goes with the snake headed lass that looks all hova ...
