Smoker boxes let in too much air. A foil packet, folded and sealed, is the best bet. Put the packet over the heat. Your grill will billow smoke. Might need a new one every 1-2 hours. Use indirect heat on the ribs. Thanks for the tips chansen!! My husband spent a whole season trying to perfect his ribs ... but never did zero in on anything spectacular. He does take that membrane off it it - has got that pretty well down pat. I think it makes a difference where you buy the meat too. The mustard is a new thought - and the smoking chips. We have a gas grill, & we did try a little smoker box many years ago - may even have been a diff BBQ then - not a great result. Might be time for a re-do!
There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home ... you sound exhausted pinga - be well.Sounds like a rough day in a series of rough days, Chemgal. Sleep well
Beloved, 4" of snow! Sorry. Soon that will pass and garden weather will return
I slept all evening. I fell asleep in the car on the way home from my the party, sat on the couch, fell asleep, son came home, heard him, fell back asleep, and now am going back to bed. Long shifts are rough
Because the universe decided our freezer above our fridge should stop working while I'm recovering. I was worried about the motor burning out or starting a fire or something if left on, and when the freezer portion is shut off the fridge shuts off too. Luckily I'm past the point of needing ice packs on my face!@ChemGal - maybe I missed something ... why are living out of a little mini fridge? (Can't crawl out from behind the bar?Just kidding!)
These: http://www.homedepot.ca/product/cobblestone-envirotile-earth-18-inch-x-18-inch/935195Some days I just don't know what folks are talking about. (It is obviously ME that doesn't keep up with consumer trends). So - Chemgal - what the bleep are rubber stone things???
WOW - thanks a million Kimmio. That stuff looks like it is exactly what we need to fix a problem area or two. We have a bit of back yard that is 'supposed' to be lawn but in reality is messy bit of overused weedy grass (that our wee dogs tend to use as a bathroom during the winter and dig in during the summer). We have also been wanting to improve the floor just inside the back door, which is the one we use all the time. Currently it has some aged cushion floor with 'pokes' through the top surface. It is always a mess from people and dogs going in and out. Whatever goes there needs to be non-slippery or we risk someone skidding on a snow melt puddle and falling down the open stairway to the basement. The envirotile looks like it will be perfect for us!! Hubby agrees and is going to check it out.
Providing a lovely blood orange to go in the fruit salad.Good morning. What a lovely day. There was a delightful breeze coming in windows last night, anyone feel it.
i was thinking of making a fruit salad, but all I have is a banana. Maybe we can make a potluck fruit salad....throw in your fruit. will be nice for lunch, and of course, in this room it never browns or ages.
I've an interesting day today, and of course, the standard pressures of juggling overdues with inbound work, missing data, deliverables, and everything else. I have three people who focus on deliverables, making decisions, clearing items off their plate. The others, to varying degrees do not. I am not a fan on having to followup on status updates from people to prod them, especially adults.
