My IV friend is gone. I went through a pretty bad 15 minutes - attack pain increasing, infiltration of IV, removing all the tape for the IV, needing to get an IV started, dizziness, nausea, plus really needing the bathroom.
The pain that had built up in my face is slowly dissipating now though, it is nice to have full movement of my arm and I'm going to sit in a soaker tub for a while without worries about my IV site getting wet. I also don't need to worry about seeking treatment for opiate constipation, so that's a plus.
I might ask for another line, especially since we have the supplies now. I'll leave that decision until tomorrow though. We can see what my surgeon's office can do (I'm assuming the earliest would be monday, but hopefully I can get the info tomorrow) or else it's the ER.
