Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

Good morning! Thursday is dawning soon, another pleasant autumn day in this area, hoping it's nice where you are as well. We come together again around the Coffee Cart for our session of conversation over old and new topics, to give and receive moral support, and to improve our community ties. Of course tea and coffee will play a art, as well as the efforts of our Wonderbaker. This morning, the WB has made a wonderful apple crisp, and provided the ice cream to top it, if desired. Enjoy!
The coffee is freshbrewed, the tea water is boiling merrily, and the apple crisp is warm from the oven. All is ready, and everybody is welcome! Come join the conversations!

What an odd whirred ... brick-elle as Chez enslaved ...

I was reading last evening about Origen, Augustine and others opinions on the mother passion thing ... it is really chaotic ... ultimate A'Din ...

AD ich tive ... how stunned it is ... cottoning between the 1 and the alternate ... you can see how someone gets drawn over the edge ...

I love butter brickle ice cream.
I do like vanilla with sweets, as I find that combining a flavoured ice cream with something like apple crisp is too sweet.

That's me though. To each their own.

The dishwasher that came with our house bit the dust during covid. We ordered a new one, and in the meantime, my spouse got the dishwasher going. It went again, multiple times, each time he got it going, and the new one was sitting in our sunroom. At times, it sounded like the ?pump? was going to explode. It regularly stopped with error codes

Finally, he decided he didn't want to fix again, and put the new one in.

In the meantime, my sister-in-law's and brother-in-law's dishwasher went. They said, we'll take your old one. No problem. Off it went.
Four years later, it is still working fine for them.

Our best guess is that the moving of it dislodged whatever was causing all the grief.

It's a family joke

Our fridge would set off the alarm regularly for "door ajar". Annoying beep that we couldn't get rid of.
It didn't go for 6 months, and i thought my spouse must have figured out how to cut the line or something. Kept forgetting to ask.

One night, it went again.
Found that the fridge had a bunch of water under the vegetable drawer.
Sopped it up.
No more alarms.

Seemed to be the pattern. Now we just put a dishtowel in during high humidity days, and it seems happy.
There's probably a drain plugged somewhere, but, this works

Encounters with this common problem have led to a lot of refrigerator sales ... makes you question the design deficiency ... another factor in our self destructive means to support economy contrary to people ...

Points to human intellectual difficulties ... so all is well ... just because!

This may come as a surprise, but I dislike vanilla. To me, it's the beige of ice creams

We had kind of noticed, yes. For my part, vanilla is a great side for another dessert like a pie or a great base for a sundae or float. But that's precisely because it is fairly lightly flavoured itself so mixes well with other flavours. So the beigeness is an asset in those situations. But for just eating straight ice cream, I have a fairly long list (butterscotch ripple, pralines and cream, mint chocolate chip, Mandarin's low-sugar cappuchino). Discovered a new one the other day thanks to a celebration at work. Wolf Pass from Chapman's.

I have two distinct uses for ice cream: to put on the side of pie or fruit dessert, or on its own. Different purposes, different ice creams. Also, apple pie is fine with both vanilla and a butterscotch sort of flavour; the butterscotch doesn't work with all pie types.

Sideliners scream ...
