Rainy, but still quite mild here. The pumpkin pie is calling me. It looks just like my mum's! Definitely not vegan or gluten free.
I need to make an organic, gluten free, vegan one for a Thanksgiving Potluck. They are all vegans. I made one last year and it turned out well, but cost a bloody fortune.

Speaking of eyes...my last exam showed my left eye fogging up with protein residue like before and will need lasering. I'm putting it off for now. Also I need to take care my tear ducts don't get blocked, so I use warm compresses and "ultra" moisturizing drops daily. I would like progressives. I had them before, but they broke. On the list. Dollar store readers for now.

Yeah, here, too. Broke for a bit over the lunch but otherwise pretty steady. The hardware store that just opened up in the next plaza over from where my office is are having a barbecue, too. They've got pavilions up but that doesn't help if it starts blowing.

I transferred to an optician in the village near me and have really liked them. Sorry to hear about your troubles @Nancy

I ate too many sweets yesterday and my body responded badly. Ugh. Haven't had a GI night like that for ages.

Went to a Probus meeting this morning. Felt bad for leadership. The meeting had the AGM so boring start, the projector failed, so no slides and the speaker cancelled. Meeting was a bit of a wipe

Good morning! Time to convene the Thursday morning meeting round the Coffee Cart. Eye care, opticians, and weather still are hot topics, the stories are interesting. I'm sure today may prove interesting as well. The coffee and the tea are ready, and the baked goodies are arriving now. Today we have fruit danishes of several varieties to enjoy. (Does anyone remember Kellogg's danish-go-rounds from the 60's and 70's?)
We gather to chat, support, and connect over tea, coffee, and snacks. The coffee is freshbrewed, the tea water is boiling, and the danishes are warm from the oven. All is ready, everyone is welcome! Come join in!
(BTW, someone has provide us a bottle of pumpkin-spice flavouring for the coffee, if anybody wants some.)

Good morning Red Baron.

Hosting a journalist today who is doing a story (or series of stories) on Canadians made in Canada response

There are self-declared powers that'll say it amounts to nothing ... and yet nothing usually get it going ... producing something ... generally nothing to get excited over as the authoritarian will say anything to rise up as an image ...

Trouble is ... a cluster denied intelligence will vote for it. What's it ... nothing actually because generally they won't wish to know ... informed characters are often disturbed or distraught ... and thus laid out in letters ... what lawyers chase ... without conjunction they couldn't say much in court when it comes to it ...

Life is circular like that ... metaphorical ... it doth come round! Life is quite courtly and-open spaced ... spatial ... much courting about trouble especially ... thus the Fifth ... many lawyers are forced to drink it in ... sucked up into a greater chaos fuddle-tree ... foo Keres ...

In the end nothing but letters .. a huge soup ... as life it is messy!

Doth anyone know better? If so they are beyond here ... out there somewhere ... a present stretch, as proposed ...

What goes in the dark ... guess ... for it appears no one knows ... said to be ineffable ... mute, or e' mutation ... MU t' antes in mutilation ... dis relief?

Pie doubt ... only so many ways to slice it ...

*Bette carefully hides said bottle of horrors where no-one will find it* (It is my considered opinion that pumpkin pie spice, everything bagel seasoning and dill pickle flavouring should be firmly and permanently returned to their original nouns)

Yeah, pumpkin spice belongs in pumpkin pie and maybe some other desserts. There's even chai teas that are "pumpkin spice" which just ... yeah. I'm not a chai fan to start with. Prefer straight black or green teas or fruity/herbal flavourings.

Had a nice hibiscus aqua fresca from Osmow's yesterday. They have had them for a bit but I decided to give it a try. First time I have had hibiscus in a drink other than a tea. There's also mint lemonade, which I might try next time they are my eat out place.

Pumpkin Spice just isn't as much a thing here as it is in the West. In the Autumn, coffee shops etc. here tend to promote nutty items instead - such as Black Sesame Hazelnut Lattes
