9/11 was a devastating example of what happens when extremism is in control and conflicts cannot be managed. Unfortunately, my current sense is that we learned absolutely nothing and it's only a matter of time until the next one. Bush's response of unjustly invading Iraq and lying about the reasons pretty much obliviated any interest I have in commemorating it. It became just another pretext for exactly the kind of US overseas interference that caused it in the first place (looks pointedly at Iran and then the Trump White House).

Why do you suppose that mortals have such difficulty with learning and knowledge ... a tree over the horizon?

Going to try out a new church in Suwon. It's a Presbyterian one with an English service and plenty of praise music

I like the sounds of that, especially the praise music part. I like traditional hymnody, too, but there's an energy in praise music that I find lacking in churches that just follow the traditional music. Even doing traditional songs with a more upbeat sound and folk or pop instrumentation can improve the energy level, I find.

A variety is suggested ... thus in the heavens a great muted racket ... as some parts are resting ... others are going at it continuously ... like light stuff in the muted ... emulation? Then the alter evolved ...
 
You mean you aren't just randomly taking down chimneys for lulz? :ROFLMAO:

I don't even have one on my place (built early 2000). The fireplace is direct vent natural gas as are the furnace and water heater. I think most of the houses in my neighbourhood are like that.

Yes, I like praise music too - when it's done well, But I've seen videos of this church's services. The music goes on and on and on. And the pastor sings solos
 
Oo, a singing pastor. That could be good or bad. Sometimes people like that overrate their skill. Music going on and on and on would kind of concern me. Music is important to worship for me but there needs to be a balance.

Today we have Rice Krispie treats! Now, just kidding, today we have wonderful apple pies to share. Vanilla ice cream is also available. The pies are sliced and ready to serve, still warm from the oven. The tea water is hot, the coffee fresh beewed all ady. All is ready, everyone welcome. Come and get it!

Yeah, this is a 70s tack-on to a century house in small town Ontario. Need it down to patch the roof before a re-roof. No sense in leaving an abandoned chimney in place to flash around and maintain.

I was just telling someone the other day about the old townhouse we had in Hamilton before Little M was born (he spent his first three or so months there). Some bright previous owner did their own roof and did not flash the chimney properly. The water leaking in ruined a couple sections of drywall that covered the chimney where it went through one of the bedrooms (this was a small two-storey, two-bedroom place). Someone at work knew a good handyman so after we got the roof fixed, we hired him to redo the drywall.

Great fun.

Started 2 hours ago. Thankfully it doesn't seem tied to the house with anything but hopes and dreams. I need to help him with his roof tomorrow, then I'm home.
 
Went to a workshop learning twinning today in Pictou, then decided to go to PEI for another day, because the weather was so nice.Just back from the beach- heavy wind and waves. Beautiful sunset. Tomorrow more beach, walking trail, Cows outlet and a store making and selling mead ( pick up some bottles for a friend as a gift). Drive home will be 4 hrs, but will stop at the cheese market in Masstown to pick up more specialty cheese…
